I'm not going to join the chorus of posters blasting Komo's treachery.
Hockey is a business. Hello!
Mike and his pal Christopher Higgins are good guys who were unfailingly cooperative with the Montreal media. All of us schmucks in the pressbox will miss them.
A personal note:
When my mother became gravely ill and was hospitalized in December, Dave Stubbs posted a note on Habs Inside/Out explaining why I'd be away from the site for a while.
Komisarek's father read it on Habs I/O. He told Mike, who made a point of calling Stubbs over after practice and asking him to pass on good wishes to me. Having lost his own mother a couple years ago, he knew what I was going through.
I'll never forget that: a classy gesture by a very decent human being.
So Leafs, Schmeafs – I wish Komo luck.
• • •
And this opens a spot at the top of our Hab Hunks list ...
Bob: Trade for a blonde guy with blue eyes!!!!
Why hate Komisarek because our GM is too stupid to offer him the money he wasted on smurfs instead?
The kid was groomed to be the team's captain, he was a classy guy that the team needed as well as by far their best (and most nights only) defensive player and also seemingly the only physical presence on the team most nights. The Leafs win, and the Habs lose, not because Komisarek is mean but, because our GM is clueless. If you want to hate someone, hate the idiot that should have offered Komisarek the 4.25 mill a year or so to stay instead of blowing it on guys like Spacek instead.
Chris Neal just turned down more money from the make beliefs to stay in O-town......thats class....thats showing some respect to the fans and organization that put much time and effort into your development. It's easy to be glib and say "business is business", but I think thats a load of crap. Not everything has to be "business is business" and like Neal some people have respect and loyalty in their character, Komiserek obviously has none.
I wish him nothing but the best. I've always been a Mike Komisarek fan. He is truly one of the good guys. But as Boone states, and I've said the same, business is business. We can't pay millions when the player isn't producing. Let's hope that the acquired players will turn this ship around.
...........
"To you from failing hands we throw the torch. Be yours to hold it high."
I STILL BELIEVE. I WILL ALWAYS BELIEVE.
I guess I am going to have to edit my profile, like a lot of you. I had Komisarek as my favorite player. This July 1st deadline also cost me money on Habs shirts (I had Higgins, Komo, Kovalev & Koivu ... ). I am having trouble even thinking about sporting 'Gill' on my back ... I guess I need time.
But as miffed as I was initially about Komo leaving, I really have nothing but respect for the guy. I also have to give the Canadiens organization a high-five for treating Komisarek with such respect, ie. inviting him behind the bench when he was injured to cheer on his team-mates. (Koivu deserved that kind of acknowledgment, no? Another can of worms altogether.)
I have to agree that he could have stayed for 500K less a year, with the chance of wearing the 'C' on his chest. It comes down to one thing: these guys are not young long, and they get only one kick at the can to make their money in this business. I think him getting the 'Lucic' kicked out of him brought some dose of reality to Mr. Komisarek. That he is human and injurable, and that his time is a limited commodity in hockey. Oh, and an extra $2.5 million US in the bank over 5 years sure doesn't hurt either!
Let him be well and enjoy his time with the Leafs. I feel the same way about this as when Gilmore went back to the Leafs. Class acts that deserve successful careers who hopefully remember their time in Montreal fondly.
- "... et le buuuuut!"
I just edited my profile. I had Komi down as my favourite Hab. He was too, until Lucic made him his byotch. Komisarek was never the same after that. I don't think he'd ever thought that someone could own him that way. You'd think he'd have gone as far as possible from Boston. Lucic will do it again. The Leaf sweater won't help. Anyway good luck to him.
Good luck to Komy.
Everyone goes on and on about his blocked shots mostly before last year. Well from another tack, if you cough up the puck alot your will have many shot blocking opportunities. After watching Detroit's outlet passes I was envious.
After 21 year old Lucic (Montreal should have drafted him he is a great "big" forward) beat up Komy he needs a fresh start. He needs a place to develop his passing, skating and develop a shot to "grow" as he was quoted to say.
My off the wall idea put Obyrne at centre for a time. He can skate and it would help him become the rushing defenseman he is meant to be rather than flailing around with his stick in the defensive end. Take to puck and go hockey!
it's hard to see komi as a leaf and to accept that it's just a busine$$ thing. he didn't exactly hit the jackpot contract for a UFA apparently fielding offers from at least 10 different clubs. even if i'm wrong and it was only 5.
howtathor mentioned a previous post, "I bought into the Mike Komisarek program, the Habs program and I really thought he would be a Hab for life" dude, me too.
you gotta think that komisarek understands what it means to be a canadien & how joining the maple queefs is nothing short of treason to fans (do we really count for so little???).
boone, my father always said, "everybody's nice" and it's true. we all have our charitable days. we also have the days where we have important decisions to make. character decisions. i believe that what mike komisarek did today was disrespectful to everyone who cheered for him & believed in him over the years.
i don't wish ill on anyone. BUT as a sports fan, a canadiens fan, i hope komi never finds his game again and becomes toronto's brisebois. and let them shower him in garlands of BOOOOOS, nightly. and if his feelings are hurt, he can wipe his teary eyes in any one of his many millions of dollar bills he'll be paid regardless.
and off topic, i hope brisebois retires.
I know this is a Komisarek thread but I wanted to just pause for a minute to contemplate the three that didn't get away.Saku Koivu, Alex Kovalev and Alex Tanguay. Weren't they the top line of the Montreal Canadiens? The faces of the franchise? Is this just another marketing ploy in the Centennial season to sell more merchandise? I hope at least Kovy will be back because there will be a lot of disappointed people at the Bell Center. I thought this was a fan driven game, well in one day Bob Gainey et al have alienated a lot of the Canadiens fan base including myself. What, because we had a lot of injuries last year, is the reason to pull the plug on the program? We went from filling holes to tearing down the foundation. Lang was a great addition last year. So was Tanguay. Both were hurt for significant amounts of time along with Koivu, Komo and Higgins. Basically is was Kovy, AK46, Pleks, Markov and pray for rain. I want my brick back!
Montreal fans are the ficklest lot. Believe me, they won't shed a tear for Koivu (and they should) and come October they will great players they've never even seen perform before as their cup salvation.
Who is going to make him look good in Toronto? They don't have a Markov!
--------------
We have a new team!
LOL comment of the day right here. Leafs are tryign desparately to rebuild their team...... They don't have the proper first line veteran talent.. So its gonna be hard and also... Have they gotten any good players lately?
Double Post :)
Dear Mr. Komisarek,
Don't know if you still read HIO, I know it can be rather painful at times especially when your son signs with the Leafs. You see the Leafs are public enemy number 1 in Montreal. The day Mike puts on a blue and white jersey he may as well be John Dillinger. Don't get me wrong, I loved your son. I loved his smash mouth, no frills style of play. Blocked shots, hits, you name it, I even sloughed off the bout with Lucic to the bad ice and the fall. I want you to know that I own no less than 3 signed jerseys of your no. 1 son (home, away and game-worn legacy). He was always accomodating and gracious with fans and I appreciate that. One of the highlights of my hockey fandom was meeting him on the street in LA and getting his signature on my back. As you can see by my picture, he's the man. Now I don't know what to do? Get a new pic? A new jersey? (no pun intended). Actually, I don't think I'll ever get another name on a jersey. I bought into the Mike Komisarek program, the Habs program and I really thought he would be a Hab for life. Alas such is not the case. Vaya con dios Mike, I wish you all the best but I have to admit that I am in shock.
Sincerely,
A sad bitter confused fan
Nice to hear the human side of people Mike. You play in a tough business and your great at it, but we all know your a sensitive pro.
We all knew there was major problems in the room with different players last season. It was very frustrating watching Carbo move players around like pinballs every night. Nothing worked and a lot of players were not professionals and stopped working for there fellow team mates. We were not a team that went to war each night for each other at all.
Bob knew it well and he has changed for a more seasoned coach. He has changed the players that needed to be changed, he has made our team younger and more talented. He has kept all our prospects except for one.
He has done a masterful job as we knew he would. Now it is up to Martin to groom this group into a TEAM that plays every night for each other and with PRIDE.
It will be a lot of fun watching the chemistry grow and the kids being brought along slowly with great new coaching in Hamilton.
It is a new day in Montreal! And for the better.!
Ian
i dont care that begin is a bruin when he comes to mtl i will personally aplaud him, he didnt choose to leave he was forced to.
Kubina for Exelby. Good Night!
Havlat - 30M/6 years/The Wild
hey steve.. i was looking for ur thoughts on yesterdays moves by Gainey..your awful quiet, maybe i missed ur thoughts.

Major Injuries are a funny thing in any sport. Sometimes a guy comes back from one and is just not the same. Its not the same but I used ot be quite the madman on the ski hill when I was really young, I tried it again and I can't for the life of me remember how I wasnt afraid of killing myself doing some of the things I did. All it takes is for that festering in the back of your mind to say "if you go all out you're going to get hurt". So far from what we have seen, Komisarek is just not the same since his bout with Lucic and subsequent injury (though some have added that he may have still been injured). Here is a player that relies on his grit and mean streak for his notoriety as his talent with the puck is less the desired. The leafs may have just done us more of a favor the we realize, more then we have done the Rangers a favor, since we actually acquired someone with skill. I wish him all the luck in the world becuase, really, anyone that has played sports finds it hard to wish ill on any of your opponents, competetivness aside ... and its not like he didnt play with heart while he was here.
So Good luck, Mike, I know how tough guy can be nice guys at heart, but since I don't know you on a personal level and well.. even if I did... you better be ready for those habs games!
Komisarek's dad reads Habs Inside/Out??? I think we nailed the, "what the hell happened to Komisarek last season?"
-Dustin
We officially have the smallest first line in the NHL lol, but damn we're going to be fast. My only fear is that with gionta+gomez+ J. Martin we're basically going to be the new jersey devils, all defense, all trap, 1 scorer(elias=cammeleri)... Probably going to be a lot of nerve wraking 2-1 games this year.
Komo in TO and Begin in Bos should make for some extra fire in those games against our rivals.
Was it the Recchi, Koivu, Petrov line in the past that was called the Smurfs line?
Valeri Bure, Petrov and Koivu
this is correct
Petrov, Zholtok, Koivu I think...
so let's see by what I am reading on here we have approx 8-10 million left in cap space (not sure if that includes prospects too??), 4 RFA's left to sign, I dont think we will have enough left for any of our top guys, probably someone like lang though
I'm sure we could get brisebois in there too! lol
It takes a big man to be like Mike and be happy for Komi, who probably was offered just as much money to stay in Montreal, but instead bolted for his old team's biggest rival.
I am not a big man. Screw Komisarek. And frankly, he sucked this year.
Yeah bang on. I have to be honest and I hope he sucks in Toronto. It will sure be a lot easier to swallow watching him choose our despised rival as the more desirable team if he does. I think it's a travesty that he was one of the most coveted guys on the roster and he walks away with no return but whatever, there's a lot of bigger news today.
I'm sorry he ever got into that Lucic fight. Not because he lost a fight. The toughest guys in the world lose fights. Not even because he got hurt, though of course that was unfortunate. What really bothered me about it? Komisarek had a reputation as a really tough clean player prior to that. He played a hard game. He would pop guys whenever he could and hard. He was definitely known as a guy to beware of at the blueline. I could live with him not fighting if that's not his thing. . He was always a bit yappy but clean. I don't know if he let a fight hurt his pride but when he came back he was constantly reaching over the refs and rubbing guys and seemed to yap twice as much. I was embarrassed for him. It really made me sad when I heard Elliott Friedman in the playoffs, when interviewing Lucic, invoking the name of Ulf Samuelsson. And he didnt mean it in the good way. Komi was always up there at the top of the league in hits and I dont really remember him ever throwing a dirty one. And suddenly he's being compared to the worst parts of Samuelsson's game.
If he plays like he did last year I'm glad he's gone. He was one of the few of the new guard that I really liked though. Higgins I wouldn't lose a wink over. People would talk about him being the next captain and i would want to puke. I hear Higgins and captain and all i can think of is him stepping over his bleeding captain and running to the bench. You could push Higgins around. He's a whiner. Komisarek is a big strong guy, but he really acted like a pussy after that fight. Personally, call me petty, i hope that's the guy (the pussy) the Leafs got. It sure is rare to find a guy who can really lay the lumber at the line like he does though. That a young stud like that walks for nothing is amazing to me but I'm sure that will be covered in full this summer.
Heatley supposedly an Oiler.
If he can sign Havlat, Kovalev or Tanguay...this will be unreal.
Neil Staya in Ott. for 8 mill over 4 yrs, Watch out!
REAL: Brian Gionta is a Hab. http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/277592.html
holy crap! go Bob go!!
nice. for real
Another dude that can flat out f'n play! Gainey must be getting hit with the paddles on the hour? Stand back, clear. BOOM!!!
just saw that... crazy.
I'm not mad that Mike went to the Make Beliefs, in fact i'm happy about it. When a free agent shows no loyalty, or respect for the fans and management of the team that drafted him and gave him his start, just so he can cash in an extra 1.5 mill, it makes me glad he went to the Leafs because while he'll have lots of cash, he'll have no shot at actually winning anything. I would be mad if he went to a contender like Detroit.
Big TRADE rumor:
Gomez plus prospect for HEATLEY
I was going to say Gaborik at 5.75$mil was a good deal...But 7.5mil?!?!
Kovalev and Tanguay?
what's going on!!!???
Gill was super for Pittsburgh winning the cup. I was pulling for Detroit and Gill was always in the way of Detroits's success, plus he can pass!
gaborik's a ranger...looks like heatley will never be traded
- Pride + Envy = Second Place
Heatley is a great player but he and his agent put Ottawa over a barrel, and years ago they put Atlanta in a barrel. I'm not sure that he couldn't just jump to the KHL at the end of the day. He wouldn't get the money, but he would be out of the contract. I guess we'll see.
7.5 for 5 years. Excellent deal for Gaborik, that's like half a million a game.
(100 in 25!-- ...what?)
I hate this professional/business/yadayada talk. Where´s the passion ? As a Hab you don´t join the Leafs or the Bruins. That´s my opinion and hey, there are still 27 other teams if you don´t want to stay... I hope he continues to play like he did last season for the rest of his career and I´m pretty sure he is not going to look too good without a great partner like Markov.
I think Koivu is gone but that Gainey has given him the option to stay. If Tanguay signs then Koivu's option is gone. Depending on how the summer goes Pleks is gone in August or if he signs for what he is worth, during the season. Kovy will be fit in if he wants to stay. If he doesn't Mr Gainey has some shopping left. Carle and Webber will get a shot to make the team in camp, D'Ag, Lats, will sign on for a year. Lang is gone unless he has no suitors, then they will bring him and Dandy back if there is still room. Just a hunch.
WHERE ARE WE AT?
How much cap space did we have and how much is left given the signings today? I'm trying to figure out if we have room to re-sign the RFAs, Kovalev, Tanguay, Koivu or Beauchemin.
$13.8 million left.
RFA's to sign - Plekanec, Latendresse, D'Agostini, Stewart, Chipchura
You have enough left to sign one of Kovalev, Tanguay, Koivu, or Beauchemin if you sign all the RFA's. Two if you trade Plekanec. Beauchemin isn't coming here with the defence corps they have now.
I dunno, it might be closer to $15,454,000 with room to sign each of the RFA's and Stewart, + Kovy and one of Tanguay or Koivu. Then again I don't think he has to be under the cap right now anyway.
Who knows about these things?
Get this through your skull, Koivu is """NOT"""" comming back, face reality..
I have and will consider his comeback the most beautiful Television and sports moments I saw. That pool hall beside the Bay in Winnipeg never saw a finer moment on its TV, Move on.
And the other number I've been watching closely today: $37.5 million committed for next season for 10 players (4 forwards, 6 defencemen).
If the cap goes down significantly (say to $48 million, the number that is often bandied about as the upper limit), the Habs will have just a smidgen over $10 million to spend on 8 forwards and re-signing Price and a back-up goalie. We better hope the economy ticks up in a big way by September or the team will be jettisoning some salary next summer.
One thing we can say: this is the Habs' make or break year. They either win this season or Gainey is likely gone and they will have some trading/rebuilding to do. This is not an attempt to be negative, but the reality of the situation. This group is getting one kick at the can, so let's hope they take full advantage of it.
The cap will likely be around 56.8 million with a floor of 46 million, but again, qui sais?
Unlikely...they pretty much nailed it this year. Said it would stay the same or even go up slightly. Next season is the one to watch out for, as NHL revenues are front-loaded. Its all going to depend on season-ticket sales, luxury and corporate box sales and corporate sponsorhip through August and September.
But when Detroit had a couple thousand tickets sitting around for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup finals (couple friends went down to watch), and that is one of the strongest markets, the NHL is in trouble. The Canadian teams aren't going to help much because they sell out regardless. They've got to see some of the smaller US markets pick up the slack from some of the hurting markets that have been carrying them for the past 5 years.
I don;t think any of us can have much certainlty of what the economy will do over the next 4 months. so no telling what the ca will be next year, predictions made by TSNdregger are like listeining to Citi Bank execs... . fooled me once call me a . . . .
Kurtenblog Analysis on the Habs moves.
The Montreal Canadiens are going to be one hell of an experienced team next season. Bob Gainey just signed 34-year-old defenceman Hal Gill for two years, $4.5 million. Earlier today, the Habs inked 35-year-old Jaroslav Spacek to a three-year deal. Add Roman Hamrlik (35 years old with two years left on his contract) to the bluline mix, not to mention all the old forwards they could feasibly bring back, and, well, frankly, we have no idea what Gainey's doing over there. Certainly not building for the future, that's for sure. Maybe he just got sick of all the partying and the damn kids with their music.
Went out for a sandwich, came back and Mike Cammalleri is on the Habs. It's a five-year deal worth $30 million, just a smidge under what each Sedin received. All of a sudden, Montreal's got a couple of small forwards in Cammalleri, 27, and Scott Gomez. Is that a problem on a team that badly lacked physicality in the postseason against the Bruins? Cammalleri scored 39 goals with the Flames last season.
The whole season will be reliant on how the young players do, Kostitsyn's, Plekanec, Latendresse, Price and O'Byrne will have to improve for the Habs to have a chance, and not a chance at the Cup but the playoffs. The Habs will also need 70 points (at least) out of the new franchise players Gomez and Camalleri.
Yikes
anyone got some komi audio?

"thats hockey, Thats Montreal, hey I had a great time there." blah blah blah, sorry Likehoy I had to say it.
Wow, huge news in every corner... I wish Komo and Higgins luck on their new teams, and thanks for playing here with us!
The team is rebuilding, man.... I'm nervous about this but I can't wait to see what the team delivers with the new guys!
---------- I am down but never out for their elimination from the playoffs. They will come back next year. Thanks for the Centennial, can't wait for 101st...

The two guys = Burke and Wilson
The log/stump thing = Komisarek's contract ($$$)
Camerguy = Gainey
For more...cynical fans, you can say the two guys are Gainey and Martin and the log is Gomez's contract and the camera guy is Sather.
A classy move by Mike Komisarek during a difficult time for you Mike. As a fan I might get upset if he went to Toronto and Montreal offered him the same deal but I have to keep a few things in mind.
(1) He doesn't have to deal with the media glare (well not the same extent as in Montreal), the taxes, the language and other problems such a lunatic fans. Then again Toronto has their share.
(2) If I was a professional hockey player keeping in mind I only have a small window to play with career-ending injuries a reality, I'm going to play where I make the most money. If it's Toronto it's Toronto. I'd be a liar if I said otherwise.
(3) I'm no longer worried about Lucic smashing him up again. In fact, I hope he does since Komisarek now plays for the Leafs. He won't be playing with Markov anymore and Kaberle will probably be traded so I guess he'll pair up with Schenn.
(4) I had a hard time with your guru Pierre McGuire. He dumped on every single trade and UFA signing made by Gainey. Gomez, Camalleri, Gill, Spacek. He dumped on each of them on TSN. He praised every signing by Burke and the Leafs (Orr, Komisarek, Exelby, Stuart). I don't mind criticism of Gainey but a semblance of balance would be nice.
Regarding McGuire, I noticed that throghout the day too. Even Darren Pang was getting irritated by him. McGuru was ranting about how Spacek and Gill were poor signings and the Habs needed Beauchemin to build around and Pang finally sadi "Maybe Beauchemin didn't want to go to Montreal."
And that is the reality of all signings is that there are two sides and both have to come to an agreement on money, and term while the player determines whether he wants to play in said city or for said coach
My explanation of McQuire and point 4. TSN stands for the Toronto Sports Network ( though it is owned by a montreal conglomerate BCE). McQuire has to play to the 401 crowd who have drank the Koolaide and are programmed to fawn all over Brian Burke. McQuire worries about the Habs D getting old. Yes, but he never mentions the folks in the pipe such as Subban, Fisher, Weber, and the Russian kid Yemilin. This year the Habs will break in Weber, next Fisher or Subban. The D is going to be fine.
McQuire reminds me of an old spinster. Always railing against marriage ( Gainey as GM) all the while wishing to be married ( have a GM's job).
With regards to point #4, this is my opinion:
Burke said he wanted a tougher, meaner team...he got rid of Kubina (I would not have, he has scored many clutch goals for the Leafs) and got Exelby who is a hitter and good tough guy; if Komi reverts to form, then he gets a hitter and shot-blocker and Orr replaces an aging May.
As for Gainey he never specified his goal besides "getting better"....so for the panel they have no yardstick for the Habs...even though on paper, they got some pretty good players, there is no context....when they see them play, they will change their tune.
"Even Roy can be run out of town after 2 Stanley Cups."
Just a possibility, but when the panel sees the Habs next season, their tune might get worse.
You are absolutely right...this could all go to pot...but in all fairness, we can say that for every trade, draft and move by every team...so who knows how this will all pan out...let's let the games be played and see.
"Even Roy can be run out of town after 2 Stanley Cups."
Any reason to think Gainey's had enough of dealing with Matt Keator? Higgins and Komisarek are both gone?
Not many of the first round picks from this decade left now. Kostitsyn, Chipchura, Price and Fischer who had family issues this past season.
I think that's why its so hard to see him go. Stand up character guy. Fans love him, and he now plays for a rival -- so they lash out I guess. But Komisarek is still the same guy, and hopefully Toronto will like him as much as we did.
So long Mike, and thanks for all the blocked shots.
Get over yourselves and him and higgins and McDonaugh. Give me a break!
Negotiating at the last minute is a really dumb idea and once again it burned Gainey.
We know in a sink or swim year for the GM, he at least can tread water.
How much better is this team right now?
Not very.
On the bubble again.
Time for an innovative GM.
I don't see how they would keep Pleks over Koivu, Pleks is useless come playoff time. There's more signings to come, I'm keeping my hooves crossed for Koivu.
http://moeymusings.blogspot.com/
Plekanec is younger and cheaper than Koivu. That's unfortunately the first, cold hard reality.
And I'm not so sure that Koivu wants anything to do with being captain in Montreal next year...he would pass Beliveau for longest tenured captain, and I'm sure he would be proud of that fact but also knows that there will be all sorts of character assassination going on.
Evidently Pleks looks better in a cocktail dress and heels too!
Touche!
http://moeymusings.blogspot.com/
Believe me I know the "element" would hate to see him bypass Beliveau's tenure as cpatain but I think Saks wants to stay here. If there is a way I hope they can do it.
http://moeymusings.blogspot.com/
How does Koivu come back with the team changing? It is sadly is imperitive that he does leave for us to not suck horse balls in 09. I hope he goes to Minni and does very well.
Hey I have blonde hair - well I did fifty years ago. My eyes are blue - well green but in the pallet - sign me!! sign me!!
Mike good luck buddy. I'm still digesting the happenings today and yesterday and I have no idea what to think.
I'm really surprised at who's gone but then again the people I wanted to keep are the people that other teams would want. So the question comes down to whether you wanted to take another run with last years team or have a wholesale change. Apprently the choice was made.
and I'm hab itually feeling kind of blue
Boone: Hockey is Business and BG decided the bum was gone. The fault was BG thinking we had a chance last year and not tradning his *** for anything.
Share the sentiments, Mike....Komisarek was a classy guy.
But that sort of clears the leadership core out of this team completely: Koivu, Higgins, Komisarek, Souray, Rivet, Huet, Streit, Kostopoulos, Brisebois...this team really got rid of a lot of its soul.
The tenured Habs left behind are (assuming he re-signs) a very moody Kovalev, the painfully shy and introverted Markov, the incoming Gomez and Cammalleri...
I don't envy you guys in the media...you lost all your sound-bites.
Cammalleri will be great for quotes. Check out his audio on the Main site.
I envy the Hacks in the media. Oh it must be hard to Blog from the seats every game and get paid living in a child's paradise. sorry I had a long week at work but come on, Broacasting is thrird to being a tenured Prof and a Judge in my book: easy jobs that that idiots whine about.
I love that you chose the example of a tenured Professor...did you realize that tenured professors in today's academic environment work 60-80 hour weeks on average? The new generation of profs are just insane workaholics...but hey, don't let a good stereotype get in the way of reality. :)
I'm a PhD student at the moment and you could not pay me a large enough salary to put up with that stress load. I get to watch it first hand, every day. And yes, I have also worked retail jobs, manual labour jobs and all sorts of others in between.
I still have a very deep respect for the guy. Going to TO will make it easier to not like him as much any more. He was one of my favorites.
i forgot we still had GUI GUI GUI!
- Pride + Envy = Second Place
couldn't we have offered an extra .5 mill/year? i mean really
Again, maybe Komisarek just didn't want to come back, we do not know.
Well put Mike. Hey, when the Komo bashers start turning down 4.5 million/year dollar contracts maybe i'll start listening.
