Ryder in the lineup for offence??? Take a hike buddy.
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but even with a beauty of a day like today, I'm still feeling anxious.
The Habs gotta win tomorrow. Breezer and Streit have got to sit, to make room for tougher and healthier players. We need OB to take some of the physical pressure off of Komisarek, who is getting run at by Lucic all series. We also need some offenive plugs back in the lineup, so Ryder's gotta be back in (for Dandy). Lats, Lapierre and Ryder have been a good lineup before. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lines are basically in stone, and we'll live or die by them.
But man...we need OB back with Hammer. Then we'll have the defensive squad that we had in the season. They held the fort, and I think that's what Carbo has to go with.
Man, this day is a right off...
TSN-
Here are some Game 7 statistics released Sunday by the NHL:
- NHL teams have trailed 3-1 in a best-of-seven series 224 times and have come back to win the series 20 times, or nine per cent of the time.
- Since the NHL introduced the best-of-seven format in 1939, the home team has won 76 of the 120 playoff series that have gone to seven games, or 63%.
- Twenty-nine of the 120 Game 7s have been decided in overtime. The last saw the Calgary Flames defeat the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 on a goal by Martin Gelinas at 1:25 to claim the Western Conference quarter-final on April 19, 2004.
- Home teams have posted a 15-14 record in the 29 overtime games, although road clubs are 10-4 since 1990.
- Montreal is 10-8 all-time in Game 7s, while Boston is 9-7.
The player with the most Game 7 experience in Monday night's contest will be Montreal centre Bryan Smolinski, although his teams' record in those games is 2-5. Alex Kovalev's teams won all five Game 7s he played in.
Boston's Glen Murray has seen five Game 7s and is 2-3, while defenceman Andrew Ference is 2-2.
The only goaltender on either side to experience a Game 7 is Boston back-up Alex Auld, who is 0-1.

"Are the Habs ready to pay the Price?"
Wow, bad goal in Det- Nsh game from beyond the red line. Detroit scores shorthanded as well.

How to read this.
Player / position / --TotalPlayoffGames-- /Points/GamesPlayed / Plus-Minus
Steve Begin (W/C) -18- 3 P/6 GP -has brought it.
Christopher Higgins (LW)-12- 4 P/6 GP -has brought it in the latter part
Saku Koivu (C)-44- 2 P/1 GP-
Andrei Kostitsyn (RW/LW) 2 P/6 GP -has not brought it, but 1st playoffs
Sergei Kostitsyn (RW/LW) 4 P/6 GP +2 -not as bad as some make it to be.
Tom Kostopoulos(RW/LW)-6- 3 P/6 GP +3 -has brought it big time.1st playoffs
Alex Kovalev (RW) -106- 4 points/6 GP hasn't really brought it.
Maxim Lapierre (C/RW) -6- 1 P/6 -1- hasn't really brought it.
Guillaume Latendresse (LW) 0 P/5 GP -3- has not brought it. 1st playoffs
Tomas Plekanec (C) -12- 3 P/6 GP -2- has not brought it.
Michael Ryder (RW) -21- 0 P/4 GP +1- has not brought it.
Bryan Smolinski (C/W) -117- 3 P/6 GP +2- has brought it big time.
Mathieu Dandenault -76- 0 P/ 6GP -2 -has not brought it
Francis Bouillon -18- 1P/1GP
Patrice Brisebois-93- 4 P/ 6 GP -1 - has brought it.
Josh Gorges -17 1 P/6 GP -1 - not 1st playoffs, not horrible.
Roman Hamrlik -61- 2 P/6 GP +1 - one stumble, has brought it big time.
Mike Komisarek -19- 1 P/ 6 GP +2- not Komi we know, but has brought it.
Andrei Markov -35- 1 P/6 GP -1 - Has not brought it.
Ryan O'Byrne -2- 0 P/2 GP -1 First playoffs.
Mark Streit -6- 1 P/ 5 GP Even- not 1st playoffs, has not brought it.
Jaroslav Halak
Carey Price 2.43 .914 - has brought it. 1st playoffs.
To clarify. We have SIX players experiencing their first taste of the postseason, not half the team as some claim.
Some of the players with the most experience- Kovalev, Markov, Dandenault, Ryder have not brought it.
Makes sense why the series is 3-3. N'est ce pas?
"One face-off, one battle, one shift, one period, one game, one series at a time."
When you're right, you're right. Hang on to this and, next September it will be interesting to see how many of the 'not brought it' players will still be there. Will history be re-written over the summer to reflect that Lapierre, Dandy, Streit, Lats, etc, just didn't get the opportunities? Bet some of the "brought it" guys will be gone instead.
Meanwhile...the Wings have had their hands full with the Predators. Just reinforces the idea that hard work and hustle can erase any advantage in skill the other team might have.
Why does that sound familiar..?
True, and Arnott isn't even playing.
i'd rather have 8 minutes of icetime from grabs than dandy.
BlAAAHHHH
"One face-off, one battle, one shift, one period, one game, one series at a time."
more like 3 minutes.
Habsgirl hit the nail right on the head.
im worried about game 7 i think our season is coming to an end sooner then we all thought
I don't know Teach. I just want them to win. I don't find the frivolity of the haircuts funny today.
You?
But I will say this. When they buzzed Price I posted they shouldn't have done that since he was on a winning streak. I said, "Isn't that considered bad luck when he is playing so hot?"
Then...he tanked. Now...this video.
But no one listens to the chick.
LOL, I agree that they should have done it BEFORE the series started. However, I don't think the cutting of the hair detracted from their performance is all.
I don't understand the video (I'm hearing impaired) what was it all about?
"One face-off, one battle, one shift, one period, one game, one series at a time."
It was about boys with too much time on their hands between games and now they may have even more time on their hands because of their goofing around.
in asian cultures, it's considered bad luck to lose anything from your natural anatomy when you're winning...
e.g. no hair cuts, no excretion (spit, poop, pee), facial hair, etc, etc.
through a 7 game series, you're bound to have to use the toilet, but getting hair cuts is a huge no-no. but arguably, latendresse did it BEFORE the playoffs started, the other boys did it DURING the playoffs.
plekanec will only gain my respect when he stops taming his goatee.
I believe, Kovy. One season with the golden mane flowing freely a Lafleur, and bye bye Gretzky's record. Strange though, Kovy's voice sounds different in that video. Maybe he has a cold? :-) Go Kovy. Go Habs.
Don't make excuses for him.
He just needs to WIN.
"One face-off, one battle, one shift, one period, one game, one series at a time."
LOL!
How about I shave him? Fly me out there. I'll fix his golden wagon for Game 7.
LMAO, well if you've got that perfect size 0 ass :P then I'm sure he won't mind lol.
P.S. I'm referring to another comment, so I don't think it needs to be flagged.
"One face-off, one battle, one shift, one period, one game, one series at a time."
It size double zero boys and it is perfect. Kovalev's soft, huge, Russian, pillow lips won't be big enough to kiss it if he doesn't win tonight. He can spend his summer dreaming about it in the Kremlin starting tomorrow I guess.
was wondering about that when i first saw it posted, teach.
They do that hair stuff in the Q. In other words, it's a juvenile thing. Grow up guys. Overconfidence ain't the proper way to go.
i still liked 2006's fu manchus the most.
Yes Boss.
Overconfidence?
"One face-off, one battle, one shift, one period, one game, one series at a time."
Perfect forum to ask this question.
Do I shave my playoff goatee or not? I trimmed it to get the bad luck out, but do we need a fresh start? I don't know what to do :(
"One face-off, one battle, one shift, one period, one game, one series at a time."
The baboon is better looking. Probably smarter too. Looks like Habs' fan.
Hehe, all the white hair from watching all the Habs playoff games.
"One face-off, one battle, one shift, one period, one game, one series at a time."
grow it
it's a proven fact the longer your facial hair the better you are at everything.
examples:
Einstein ==> huge moustache ==> brilliant
S. Niedermeyer ==> playoff beard ==> stanley cup
Chuck Norris ==> lumberjack beard ==> Chuck Norris.
