Reflecting on his front-row seat at the end of the Canadiens' bench for Game 4, Price said it was "tough to watch when you lose." There were, he added, no great insights to be gained from the vantage point, other than an appreciation of the Flyers' aggressive forechecking style.
While laughing off injury rumours, Price admitted he had been feeling some mental fatigue after "close to 14, I think" consecutive starts.
Thirteen, to be precise. The last three games of the regular season, alll seven playoff games against Boston and the first three against Philadelphia.
"Just getting worn out a little bit after playing a lot of games in a row," Price said. "I think it was good to get a little mental break. Last game was a good relaaxation period for me.
"I feel better after a couple days of good practices," Price said. "I really feel prepared for the next game."
Is he looking forward to starting again?
"I've never liked sitting on the bench," Price said. "It's never been my best attribute."
As to his alleged injuuries, Priice said "everybody has two or three thinggs that are sore in the playoffs – that's just the way it is.
"It's the norm for the playoffs. Guys are playing through strains or whatever."

Christopher Higgins talked about crowding the net.
"You have to battle for your space," he said. "Philly does a good job of lifting sticks and getting bodies on guys. You have to be prepared to battle in front of the net.
"We have to be a little more intent in front of the net. The rebounds are there, but it seems they clear them before we get a stick on it. We have to be a little more aware of where the puck is going after it hits the goalie and going to those spots for a second shot."
Higgins feels he has to elevate his own game.
"I definitely have to do better," he said. "I'm not geting the results I want.
"Especially after the last game. You sit down in the lockerroom and you look at yourself first. Obviously, I'm not doing my part to help the team win. When you llose a game like we did to go down 3-1, it takes its toll. You don't feel good about yourself and the way you're helping your team.
"It's tough to look your teammates in the eye when you don't play a good game in the playoffs."
I asked Higgins if the bounces and breaks – exemplified by the Vaclav Prospal shot that rang off the post directly onto Scott Hartnell's stick in Game 4 – inevitably even out.
"I hope so," Higgins replied. "But I'm a big believer in making your own breaks. The harder youu work, the more persistent you are, the more chances luck will turn on your side. I think everyone in this room has that mindset.
"Quit isn't involved with our team. We've come back so often from being down in games. I don't think it's any different being down in a series. We'll have the same approach and be very confident in the next game."
Ryder could find himself useful if he doesn't play tommorow. Create some paper airplanes and throw them towards Martin Biron, if our players don't crash the net.. atleast some paper airplanes will..
lmao, but with our luck the paper airplane will fly down to our net and deflect another puck past price.
I feel quite confident that the boys will come back and win the series. They deserve it more.
Go Habs Go!
A little off topic, but a cool story nonetheless:
I was shooting the ball around outside (keep in mind, I've never really been that great of a hockey player, my brothers have that gift) and I took a wrister from pretty far out on the road and the ball went crashing through my bathroom window. My dad came outside and I was so scared he would be irate. Instead he surveyed the damage and said, "You shouldn't be playing outside in the cold in a t-shirt." Then he went inside. I could've sworn he had the look of pride on his face. Gotta love Canada.
A red ball through a window?
Yikes, you must not be having a good day lol :p
you've got a great dad!
but your shots as bad as HAmmers!
Hey! It was a pretty good shot! I was aiming in the general direction of the window!
oh...uh oh.
:) Awesome story haha.

"Are the Habs ready to pay the Price?"
Soooo Price was amazing after all. Playing with 6 broken fingers must have been nearly impossible!

"Thirteen, to be precise. The last seven games of the regular season, alll seven playoff games against Boston and the first three against Philadelphia."
Hey Boone, did you lose your calculator? 7+7+3 does not equal 13. 17, I believe, is the correct answer to that cryptic problem...
Can't count.
Fixed.
Thanks for the heads up (albeit up my ass).
Hey! The mans a journalist, not a mathematician!! hahaha

Doesn't 7, 7 and 3 add up to 17 straight? Or am I missing something?
Damn it Jim!!! He's a journalist, not a mathematician!!!!!
So true. WHATSAMATTERBOONE!
Ex nihilo nihil fit
don't point out that boone made a mistake, he's ok with it but his servile, fawning posse will jump all over you. so ssh or you might be disappearred...
Earl! You can't spell. Didn't you mean my "servile, fawning pussy"?
that's the line of the year, seriously. a beaut! I'm still chuckling at it.
ebk & Mike - finally a little levity - the weight of some of these other posts was starting to be too much to bear.
The Original 24.4 Cups
Not unexpected but I'm digging the attitude from Price.
Will we see the Price that led the Bulldogs last year?
Will we see the Price that led the junior team to the World Championship?
Something tells me from his attitude that he's ready to go and Philly better be scared. Interesting that Carbo didn't wait to announce it till Saturday. He must really feel that Price is ready to go..
This isn't news...
news would be RYDER is in, maybe Stewart/CHIP..
INSTEAD I'M HEARING RUMOURS OF DANDY!!!!!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I thought Carb was an Adams candidate coach!
Ok Habs nation. I think the turning point SO FAR in this series has been in game 2 in the 1st F period the fans started to chant OLE OLE in a tie F game what happens not even a 1 or 2 mins after, you guessed it the Flyer take all the momentum and score. So please please lets stick with go habs go chant, stop the OLE OLE until were up by 4+ goals and 10 mins left in the game please.
And no matter what happens let our team know that we are behind them NO MATTER WHAT.
GO HABS GO
there is no such entity as "habs nation". please!
you want to use a collective moniker for fans of Les Canadiens? try Habs Universe or something more grand or something much less 'leafy'
do you live in ontario? it's rubbing off on you... not a pretty sight
Habs Nation?
We don't use "Habs Nation".
Ever.
I think the Ole song is ok. Singing the Goodbye song in the middle of the game, however...
Singing Ole, is usually reserved for when we are playing well and carrying the momentum.
P.S. Please don't refer to us as Habs Nation.
"One face-off, one battle, one shift, one period, one game, one series at a time."
"Are the Habs ready to pay the Price?"
Momentum!!! when did we have momentum in game 2. We had it for like two shifts. That imao does not call for a Ole Ole maybe after a goal.
Please don't take offense to the habs nation comment unless your in the closet laffer.
The laffs stole the "nation" thing from the Red Sox. I'd hate to think that we'd be guilty of receiving stolen goods.
