“It’s
pretty rewarding for us to see our players be that excited, to see
everyone in our organization moving on against a team like Montreal.
What a great team, and a great year.”
“Wow…
(Umberger) was a possessed man. We moved him around and he didn’t even
bat an eye. He just wanted to play. He went from right side to left
side… He’s just been a force.”
“It was a pretty
intense environment coming out there. The crowd here is terrific. We
had the ability to settle down and get things back on track. I think
our guys really wanted this game.”
“Our leaders led the way and our young players grew up in a hurry.”
Like the guys on RDS kept saying, the Flyers were very opportunistic against us. We just could not capitalize on our hundreds of chances. On paper, we are the better team by far, but they played more like a single unit than we did. That being said, I hope they go down in four next round, and we sign Umberger in the off-season.
I think at the very least Stevens should admit that his team had a lot of luck on their side.
Just look at the majority of their goals scored. It's not like a lot their goals were a result of some calculated and meticulously executed strategy or play. That Richards goal off his shoulder...like please that was such a cheesy goal. It's a 1 in 100 chance that that puck even gets into the net and if that hadn't gone in, we'd probably be walking out with a win.
Of course there were those game 2 and 3 posts when the Habs' pondered in what key the post rings off at (F sharp? B flat?). How many of their goals were deflected off unsuspecting Habs' D?
Lupul off his own skate goal that resulted from some lobbed shot or something, the list goes on.
Well, it looks like they successfully "Crushed the Canadiens".
What's next? "Pee on the Penguins"? "Ream the Rangers"? (I avoided a more offensive 'R' word).
What a joke of an organization. The fact that they beat us 4 times in a row definitely says something about them as a team that I can't put down, but they won't survive another round.
Here's to a great year with a disappointing finish.
______________
Hab a nice Summer.
he likes his umbergers with a lot of cheese
F U stevens, who gives a crap what he says
"One face-off, one battle, one shift, one period, one game, one series at a time."
"Are the Habs ready to pay the Price?"
come on Adriano, you are better than that.
win with class, lose with class, this is the Montreal Canadiens!
Ahh, I guess I was just aggravated because Boone posted Steven's comments before Carbo's.

No need to be bitter!
I hate the flyers more than I ever have, and that's saying a lot.
What a shitty organization.
