In support of Larry, I would say that I think his analysis has at least some chance of becoming a reality instead of just being hysterical. I think anyone who questioned BG's deadline wisdom, was basically vindicated. Looking through clear glass towards the anniversary season, I see Koivu and Kovalev one year older, questionable goaltending, a core of D that in its best iteration (pts and pylon again tonight) includes Breezer not O’byrne, and some nice but small offensive talent. Can they repeat what they did this year let alone challenge for the cup? Not likely.
