If Kovalev regards himself as a regular player (not a superman), and doesn't challenge coaching team (Carbo), this team will be as good as supposed to.
Enjoy tonight's game!

Tanguay-Koivu-Kovalev
Kostitsyn – Plekanec – Kostitsyn
Higgins – Lang – Kostopoulos
Latendresse – Bégin – Dandenault
I LIKE THESE LINEUPS! (my personal plan is exchanging Plec and Lang)
When PP, replacing AK27 with Sergei, placing Georges as PP point, Habs will be back again!

Hilarious, if it works, Gorges will NEVER hear the end of it! LMAO!

haha kinda sounds like georges and price are in a cult, but hey anything that may work right? were they wearing cloaks while doing this ritual?

With tonight's line combos of,
Tanguay-Koivu-Kovalev
Kostitsyn – Plekanec – Kostitsyn
Higgins – Lang – Kostopoulos
Latendresse – Bégin – Dandenault
I see Carbo putting Lats with Begin as a last hope to have the younger learning from the older in the art of grit and commitment.
If Lats floats around while Begin bleeds for the team, he is no longer going to get away with his unfortunate at times sluggish play. He sometimes looks like a true power-forward, meaning he can do it, and I'm afraid Carbo won't be playing musical chair with him all year. I like the kid, he has the tools and he is now in his third year. So Guy, "pay attention to the old warrior at centre and cut and paste his dedication to your "How to" folder. If not, you will have to blanket Lucic on every shift this Saturday.

Submitted by coachdoug on Tue, 11/18/2008 - 16:39.
How about BGL sacrificing Lucic next time we play the Teddy Bears? I am generally opposed to human sacrifice but this may ward of some evil spirits and make Cherry shut-up.

Well, it's more important for me that Gorges stop goals than score them. On that count he's doing well, and that's all I really expect.

Submitted by travelsized on Tue, 11/18/2008 - 16:14.
Wait, we're so desperate we are resorting to rituals now? Like, I hope it helps, but seriously...
Submitted by christophurrr on Tue, 11/18/2008 - 16:45.
i'd say it's more of a playful thing than anything, don't think they're quite that desperate yet

Submitted by DMAN on Tue, 11/18/2008 - 16:09.
Carey Price should try Defence and Gorges the net. Price has a real nifty outlet pass. It might just work. LOL! Besides their career point totals are very similar already!

Heard a tale of huju-voodoo,
Half-assed sacrifice outta my shoe
But as long as they're at it,
Wouldn't mind seeing added
Kovy's and Tommy's and Andrei's stick too.
Peace Out

Oh, Chorske... Chorske, Chorske, Chorske...
Why you gotta hurt my feelings like that?
I make these for you, mate.
For all of yehs.
You gotta tell me that they're ALL great, even the stinkers. If I feel your encouragement, I'll double my efforts.
Reminds you of anybody?
Hint: Rhymes with Shmovalev.
Peace Out

Love it. I tell ya, when Josh scores his first goal as a Hab there will be few happier than this long-time fan. He used to do with some regularity with the Rockets, but then, he was getting PP time back as a junior.

If Ryan O'Byrne would start using his size the way it was thought he would, we wouldn't have a D problem. This isn't the year to be patient with a guy like him. Shape up or ship out. Start crashing and banging the way you were hired to bang and crash. http://dennis-kane.com/

Everybody is bashing on ROB but we have to give him time. Its always longer for a D to develop...It always been like that. Obyrne is currently a better D than Komisarek was at his age...

I dont know why Carbo isnt putting Kovys line on the first PP wave. It worked awesome in 07-08, but this year he decided to go with Koivu on the first wave, he switched Markov to the right point, and decided that #79 has to shoot now.
Markov misses the net 90% of the time, plus from the right, he cannot feed Kovy anymore. He is a great passer...I know Tanguay is a great one too, but Carbo changed the chemistry and we dont have results yet.
Kovalev needs to be on the ice for more than 45 sec on the PP....
What do you guys think?

I agree completely. Of the last 11 p's only 5 were full pp's. 5 were under a minute and 1 was only 13 seconds. The real slump actually started as a legit pp slump (0 dfor 4) in a 4-0 shutout of the Sens. Then we went ) for 2 agaisnt the Bruins, again legit (that whole game sucked). Against the Flyers we were 0 for 4 (3 full pp's and 1 25 second one. Biron had some good moments and I thought we had some chances on the pp that game. The 0 for 10 was not really an 0 for 10 as only 5 were real pp's (one of those was in OT 4 on 3). I think we should let the guys that got us there try it again. Pleks, Kovy, Andrei's and either Tanguay or Sergei. Koivu is a great quarterback a la Kovy but he is not cut out for standing in front of the net. That is what made our 2nd pp dangerous...Koivu as the quarterback. Unfortunately for Saku Kovy is better at it.
Submitted by c-note on Tue, 11/18/2008 - 14:21.
Have to agree, the move of Markov to the right just isn't working. The main reason that Sourray and Streit had such great success is the sweet one-timer feeds markov would send them. In addition to the kovalev feeds you mentioned, Markov was also pretty good at sneaking up for the back door pass on the left side, which he can't do from the right. If there isn't anyone who can shoot from the right side on the PP and Weber isn't ready to bring up, they should just put someone with a hard shot there and get laraque or gui to crowd the net and work of deflecting some shots, and if they can't learn to do that maybe give Hamirlik a shot in front of the net, at least we know he can hold his own in a fight for position and has decent hands.

Time to put Gorges on the point on the PP! He can be the next Souray or Streit.
