Surely you remember the Oct. 9, 2008 deal that sent Phoenix Coyotes centreman Michael Zigomanis to the Pittsburgh Penguins for future considerations?

Looking over this list, I'd say the winners were: -Vancouver getting O'Brien for, um, who again?? from Atlanta. O'Brien is a huge reliable point man (6'3", 230lbs, 9 pts, +11 this year). -Montreal getting Lang for a pick. Gawd I miss that guy in our lineup. And the losers are: everyone involved in the Klee / Schneider deal. Anaheim gets Klee but loses him to Phoenix on re-entry waivers, and Atlanta gets Schneider only to trade him for picks a couple months later. Huh? ______________________________________________________________ Il faut commencer avec le travail, et finir avec le talent. BG

O,Brien isn't reliable, he's lazier than Kovalev. Look at the number of lazy minor penalties he gets because he isn't covering his man and because he loses a lot of one-on-one battles. Atlanta dumped him because they knew this, and Vancouver struggled for half a season in part because of this. Atlanta's GM is pretty dumb, I'll admit, but that deal is deeper than it sounds.

I don't really think that Atlanta loses out by trading Schneider to us for 2 picks. I think the whole reason they got him in the first place was to trade some pieces they didn't want to Anaheim and then turn around this season and trade him for some picks. I'm sure they knew they weren't going to be contending this year so they just wanted to get some picks. Totally agree on the O'Brien stuff though, when he was having issues in Vancouver a couple weeks ago I was hoping we would swing a deal for him, he would look pretty good on our third pairing, that is the kind of toughness we need.
