Here we are hoping in one hand and wishing in the other. If Gainey had pulled Price after his first shakey period against the NYR, they may have already secured that spot they'll be fighting for tonite. It's the same MO every game with Price. If he's shakey to start, he'll have a terrible game. Are fans the only ones who see this? I would hope Gainey goes with Halak tonite and if need be ride him into the playoffs. 2007 was a very hard pill to swallow, don't want to see that s**t again. As for Weber, let him loose. It would be almost impossible for him to be as bad as some of the D last game. I bet Komo would be going to Ham and not Janic if it wasn't for that little waiver problem. Alas, we are where we are and we have what we have. A beat up Schneider is better than no Schneider at all. You never know, him and Weber may have the same chemistry as him and Markov - if even for tonite. You can't win if you don't play.

Funny post coming from someone whose favorite players are SK74 and Plekanec....!
Neither Price nor Komisarek have been anywhere as bad as either of them lol

I agree that Pleks and SK47 are useless but not as important as our D. And Komisarek is just plain brutal, Consistent no hit games, turn over after turn over, or panic iceings, that being said the only D men we have who earn their money is Georges, and Markov.
I'm also a little worried with Schneider coming back. He's showing a ton of hart and obviously wants to win but rotator cuffs will not heal on their own...ever, I think he should go for the surgery. and come back next year stronger than before. After all you can't shoot with a torn rotator cuff.

Submitted by Qais on Thu, 04/09/2009 - 12:58.
so you're players are Price and Komi and you think they did better than those two?

Price is part of the reason we are STILL in the playoff run (remember those 7 wins BEFORE the Markov & Schneider injury?)
Sheesh people in here have short-term memory loss I think.
& I guarantee that HAD Halak played in any of those 7 games, and lost ? these same fans would be asking for Gainey's head on a platter for not making Price play.

Price is our #1 in the minds of big wigs upstairs. They going on the principals of we will sink or swim with him.
You put the man (boy) in net tonight because he's the one they see during playoff's...if we get there which we will.

Submitted by Qais on Thu, 04/09/2009 - 13:00.
I still dont agree how did Price get #1, for the previous games, Halak has proven that he should be between the pipes and you're still talkin about Price.

Proven ? show stats ??
what HAS been proven is that Price is based on stats alone - better then Halak - END OF STORY...
People need to get the Halak Blinders off - cuz Halak has not won anything more then 1 game SINCE the 4 game stretch he had that seems to have made so many of you believers in the all-mighty Halak
Price has the experience - Halak does NOT.
Price has won in the playoffs - Halak has NOT.
Price has won the big show (twice 2 years ago, World Juniors & Calder Cup) - Halak has NOT.
Tell me what Halak has done (other then those 4 straight wins, which BTW up till the injuries of Markov & Schneider Price had surpased that winning streak - so I ask again....
How is Halak "better" then Price ? cuz when "I" watch the game I see alot more spectacular saves from Price, and a very good #2 in Halak.

This is a big mistake
One hit from lucic or chara and he is down for the count.
And without being able to take a shot, what good is he anyway?
He is risking his health for potentially the rest of his life for a game like this? Wow, he must really love the team. Good for him. Thats admirable for sure. But I think he is liable to do more harm than good, both to himself and to the team - particularly if he plays scared.

Submitted by Nahlsy on Thu, 04/09/2009 - 11:47.
Sounds like Boston may be resting some guys as well. Really how bright would it be for them to take out Schneider though? The possibility that someone retaliates and takes out Savard for example would make that just not worth the effort for them.
In all seriousness, Boston wants no part of Montreal in the first round no matter how banged up they are (history doesn't lie). There are much better options for the Bruins to begin the playoffs with and it wouldn't be overly surprising to see them go through the motions tonight to try to make sure they avoid the possibility.

Is he that good of a playmaker?

It is only a rotator cuff injury. Hell the guy behind the bench played the Stanley cup playoffs with 2 dislocated shoulders and still has all his limbs.

very true... But no matter what age it is. He got a second opinion and he isn't as injured as they say he is. Now.. Will it hurt... Yes.... Will he have the same strength in his shot? No... That is why Weber is there.

I'm hearing Marinaro - not sure if he's serious or not - reporting that Weber will play forward tonight with Dandy back on D. The thinking apparently is that Weber will not be able to handle the Bruin's size up front.

Submitted by Gary320 on Thu, 04/09/2009 - 11:28.
I think its a smart decision. Weber will play D during PPs.
Id rather have Dandy get the responsiblities of being a D on ES, instead of Weber who has only played 1 NHL game.

I live the enthusiasm found on this board due to this news and it is a nice change from the negativeity from the past few games. As much as I agree that Schneider is a waarior and he is taking one for the team, is as much as the rest of the team (especially the second line) has to pay teh price tonight. This is like a seventh game. We have to play ur hearts ands guarentee our presence in the playoffs.
You know with everything that has happened this year. Getting in the playoffs is a real nice goal to reach. Once the series starts anything can happen. So there is still hope for a cup.

Brezzer as a seventh defenseman has done his job and even more. I respect the guy for coming back to Montreal after he was booed away. I agree O'Byrne should sit. Not because he can't play. But because he has played 2 games in a month. Who can get their groove back with soo little playing time.

Schneider will play. His family is only 1 hour south of Boston. This is great news for Habs. Broons going down. They are all excited about Winter Classic game at Fenway Park.
Jack Edwards on NESN will have the call in English- The Canadiens in their 100th year will join the Bruins in postseason.
Jack will have to take it down a notch from the last time they played in Montreal. "The Bruins have won the season series !!! "
Dick Irvin never got that excited after a regular season win.

sore knee, out 3 weeks, no updates since they mentioned that. My opinion is that chances are they're resting him as much as possible. If we lose tonight and Florida wins, they'll throw caution to the wind and plug him into the lineup on Saturday. If we clinch tonight, they'll rest him until we're down 2 games in the first round and do the same.
