I think the smart teams will have Montreal figured out. Just block Montreal based on its lefties! What is with this push to have almost an entire team that shoots left?
Pacioretty - Gomez - Gionta
A. Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Cammalleri (Jacko said he also plays RW)
Latendresse - Lapierre - Moen (can play his off-wing to crush bodies)
Stewart - Metropolit - Laraque
Markov - Spacek
Hamrlik - Mara
Gill - Gorges
Weber or Subban
Price (living in Jacko's house where he'll die of boredom or focus on his game)
Sergei Kostitsyn -- rotting in the KHL... and somewhere on the West Island, carbo would be smiling
Now THAT's a lineup I can be happy about!
“All hockey players are bilingual. They know English and profanity.” Gordie Howe
I like his size and character, but he's been a minus player every year, and that's playing with good teams in Anaheim and SJ. I hope his work ethic rubs off on others.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If a man speaks in a forest where no woman can hear him, is he still wrong?
Grit and character are crucial and I've definitely been on board the "out with the old, in with the new" movement, but it's truly hilarious how the signing of a third-line plugger and a No. 5 d-man have nitwits completely flip-flopping from their "sky is falling and Gainey must go" stances.
If Carey Price doesn't return to franchise goalie form, we won't be "difficult" to play against. Even with last year's group, we were rolling along just fine until Price got injured/horny/boozed up/shat himself/insert own rumour here.
Tne key to any of this is, gulp, a 21-year-old kid. I hope they make sure the young fella lives with a veteran and his family. I still firmly believe he can be an elite 'tender.
But if he doesn't turn it around, Gainey's a goner, even if he signs a few more grinders that make everyone moist.
Well gee, no kidding? Losing might cost someone their job? Thanks for that wisdom. Now can the rest of us get back to liking what we're seeing? A tougher, much better defensive team that won't fold like an old blanket when the going gets tough. There's more to winning than first line talent, in case you haven't heard. The muckers gotta be there. They are pieces of a puzzle. Carey Price will appreciate this, if you don't.
I'm a huge travis moen fan,you have to actually watch him play to truly appreciate what he brings go the table. As for mara,he played top 4 minutes on a team that was better then us last year so,how does that make him a number 5 D for us?
Normally, I'd agree with you, but the recent signings should not be viewed as third-fourth liner and 5th D. They need to be looked at as bringing some toughness to a team that was severly lacking it.
I like the first line group that Bob signed, but was worried that Toronto, Philly and Boston were all getting a lot tougher than us. Moen and Mara (and Big George) ensure less people will be taking liberties with our smaller forwards. They may also show guys like O'Byrne, LaPierre, Latandresse, Paches how to play big (Stewart already has this mentality).
So bringing in these guys represents a lot more than what it appears on the surface (and by just looking at stats). They fill a void that BGL was trying to fill by himself. We needed these kinds of players, and nobody was sure we were going to get them.
As much as I liked Tom the Bomb, he didn't instill any fear into the opposition. Moen does.
Good signings.
Agree.I wish someone would take Price under there wing.I have said this before. He was a kid in a big city,it was like a kid in a candy store to him.Maybe he has grown up over the summer and some mentoring hopefully.I heard all the stories is it all true ? I am sure he has learned his lesson from last year, every move he makes will make headlines ( the bad boy moves)We all learn from our own mistakes,we only get wiser as we get older.
Go Habs GOOOO
Habs Fan 4 Ever & Ever Amen.
Insightful, funny, veritas... Great post.
Moen's minus 52 in 3.5 seasons in San Jose and Anaheim? Playing 3rd-line minutes? Yikes!
+/- is overrated..
Guys please, I am loving these recent acquisitions. They really add a much needed component to our team. However these statements that guys like Cammalleri and Gionta wouldn't have signed without Gomez is ludicrous. It's not like they signed at a bargain price just to play for Gomez. Gainey did something that he's not often done in past free agencies. He did something he HAD to do with all our UFA's. He overpaid! Not many teams are going to hang around in a 5M bidding war for Gionta. Same for Cammalleri. They were very good signings. I am glad he signed them. I understand that in free agency you have to overpay. But really, Gomez is not the source. He might have been an enticement. But I really believe that even without him, they would still sign that their current contracts to play with Plekanec!
The thing that throws a wrench in that theory is would they have chosen to play here even if Gainey had overpaid for their services? It has happened in the past...
I still say getting Gomez sold an idea to the rest and sealed the deal..
Mike C. said on OTR that the Gomez signing is what helped him decide to go to the Habs. I'm sure he would have gotten $6 million anywhere he wanted to play (the guy had 39 goals - 82 points... check the salaries of guys who do that).
Guess no chance for Tom the Bomb to get resigned with Moen on board, I'll welcome him, but damn if i won't miss seeing Tom work his *** off out there and try valiantly to win fights he lost the second he dropped the gloves.
I like these signings, back-end improvement and a new grinder to work on the 3rd and 4th lines.
- Captain Koivu Forever
Wow, 360 degree turn for the HABS, now who cares where Komi went (I'd like to see him fight again hahahaha)...
Alot of debating on whether the Gomez signing had any affect on the recent signings, I say yes (even though I was opposed to his cap hit). He is a leader, he does have skill, and he plays hard. BUt that is not all...
IMO, I think the coaching change (complete system for once) with The Martin Era (I still call it that, I think it will stick for a while, if you know what I mean), the paying for players (Gomez), made alot of other talent realize that Gainey is "changing" the face of the Montréal Canadiens, and they wanted to be a part of it, who wouldn't?
Excited for the season to start? Absolutely!
GO HABS GO!
Damn, the future's so bright i just put on my shades!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a former supporter of Bob Gainey. I have not comment on these recent moves . I am still trying to understand and justify how any hockey person in his right mind would pay $8mm a year for a 15 goal scorer for five plus years. This deal will hamstring this franchise for years to come. I dare anyone who considers himself a knowledgeable hockey fan to make a convincing argument for this deal.
mjames
I'm with you bud. heck koivu consistently topped 16 goals 50 pts. and he signed for 3.5M ... kovalev is good for 65 pts in a mediocre year for 5M. so 105 pts last year for 8.5M compared to 58 pts. for 8M... hmmm
So, I guess you guys wanted to stay status quo with the current line up that hasn't tasted anything past the 2nd round of playoff success since Clinton was in office, I suppose?
Without Gomez, we would still be at square one...In order to change the core you have to attract core type players..and no, Bryan Smolinski and Robert Lang do not fall into that catagory..
Accept change..
It's a good thing..(Martha Stewart)
I am not on the "change is great"-bandwagon when it happens like this.
So Gomez is a core-type player. When did he lift himself into this position? The only hope I do have is that he and Gionta get comfy real quick and put up some numbers, so that we have at least a solid first line. The second line will be centered by Plekanec, so, I don't know what else there is to say. Better he comes to camp a transformed man, same goes for AK46. Cammalleri is a question mark for me, albeit an expensive one. I think he's good, but not of a game-changing type. I hope for solid scoring in the 70s with 25-30 goals. From then on scoring gets scarce. And unless we earned ourselves two GAG-lines with line 1 and 2 we are in deep trouble concerning our scoring. I like the signings on defence a lot more.
Once again concerning the changes: I agree that changes were necessary, I just don't know if the right people were expulsed. For all the Kovy-thrashing that's going on for a while now ("Gainey knew him, since he coached him, and decided that he was expendable") people forget that there was an offer on the table. It's not that Gainey thought bad off him, it's more like something stupid happened, either way you put it, that let to him leaving the team.
Anyway, let's root!
Gulp........I like the signing but his +/- stats scare the living hell out of me!
"We will win the Cup one day only with a mature Carey Price in the nets"
+/- is a total BS stat. Didn't Michael Ryder reveal that to us all as a Bruin?
Damn, Yeats, I hope you're right. Like the signings, man are we "retooling" this team or what. I;m starting to like this team more and more.....can;t wait for training camp to start!
"We will win the Cup one day only with a mature Carey Price in the nets"
Excellent moves today. Next step: trade away PLEKS, KOST. SISTERS
--I will die a delirious fan and never apologize for it!--
I love this signing...you doubters ought to be ashamed!
XXIV...and counting
The Habs got a helluva lot more ugly in a good way. The critics and many of you on this site have bashed Gainey since July 1, but I have noticed that you have coattailed into a corner today. Gainey has rebuilt the Habs in a smart way. Big D, three or four small speedy forwards, who are not like some ( Pleks) who will actually get their noses dirty. Then he added some size and toughness, with folks that can actually play. Yes the Lord. Brian Burke went out and got the goons, but the Habs got toughness, speed and some that can chip in with the odd goal. Moen is a perfect Hab.Tough, solid in the corners and can score 10-12 goals a year. He will be perfect to ride shotgun with Gomez and Gionta. You throw in Stewart and BGL and no team is going to intimidate the Habs. And for Moen, we finally have a tough Western Canadian boy!!!! Then we can throw gill and Mara into the mix and there will be no Philly flu for this team!!!
I awit Pierre Mcquire's response. And i also want to hear from Michael Farber, and the rest who have burnt Gainey at the stake over the past few weeks.
Two great signings both cap friendly..best part lost nothing
Picture of two perfect things clashing
Do anybody know how much salary per year is Patrick Marleau making? How long is he signed for with SJ?
$6.3/year
OUCH!!!! Thank you
Where is all the "Gomez is the worst trade ever" talk. I would love to hear Pierre "know nothing" McGuire now ???
I have said all along right from the moment the trade was made, that Gomez was the bait needed to attract top UFA's this year. He is a very good center, but is respected around the league, and was every bit a lure to other UFA's as he was our first line center. And voila, look what happens...we attract top UFA's.
I wish the casual fans would keep their uninformed comments to themselves before they know of the FULL plan.
I guess your last statement turns you into an informed hard core fan.
How vein when you consider the boldness of your statement without any hard evidence.
The fact remains that no one would have known if the UFAs we signed wouldn't have signed if Gomez was not part of the package.
It's an educated guess, and a good one I should add, but not much better than the guy next door who has the right to state that Gainey overpaid for Gomez (which he did) without being labeled as a casual uninformed fan (at least your polite, I've seen much worse).
I didn't mean to come across as angry, but I just got VERY tired of the continued negativity and complaining. And in fact one of the UFA's ( I beleive Camalleri) said that he chose Montreal because of the strong addition of Gomez. I think Gionta coming here becasue of Gomez is pretty much a given, althought it was not said as much. When UFA's see talent going to a team, they are more inclined to follow as they know they have the talent to support them. I just think it was ridiculous to bash Gainey for picking up talent, and then on July 2, they think they have the whole team (and Gainey) figured out
As for overpaying for Gomez....a 3rd liner and a prospect for a 1st liner center, in my opinion, is not overpaying. If McDonaugh turns out to be a stud, that may be a slight overpatment, if he is a flop ( or even average) it is far from an overpayment.
Fair enough, and it's nice to see that you didn't mean to come across as angry.
There's nothing better than a civil debate.
Taking the huge Gomez salary on our books for the duration of the term should have been lucrative enough for Sather, I surely didn't expect to return that much talent and prospect on top if it.
Higgy is no slouch, specially if plays his role (which we saw towards the end of the season)
Honestly though, no one would know how any trade pans out until few years down the road, when we can all say that hindsight is always 20-20.
I wish I could say I'm looking forward to October considering the lousy summer we had so far, but at least there's Hockey to look forward to :)
And the core is in place for the next 5 years - we will have the ability to build around these players with our prospects (2nd rated in the entire NHL, only behind St-Louis), and acquiring role players like Mara, Moen, Gorges, Gill.
Isn't it odd though that so many people really thought Gainey had gone bonkers? I mean really?! This is Bob Gainey, the so called "world's best all around hockey player" by legendary Soviet national team coach Antoli Tarasov. It's odd that he was doubted so harshly. I know most people won't admit it, but it seems to me that perhaps he had a plan.
I know that this wasn't plan A, (it's pretty obvious Plan A was to acquire Vincent), however Gomez has turned into be a decent plan B. Although I don't think his play will ever be as impactful as Vincent's would have been, his influence in getting players to sign here does appear to be creating the same catalyst that Gainey was looking for in acquiring Lecavlier.
This is a great signing that almost guarantees either a big trade or Pacs starts the year in Hamilton with only injuries dictating his call up.
In one day we got bigger and tougher in so many ways. This team will not be pushed around any longer.
BGL, Stewart, Gill, Mara, Moen.
Boy, I sure like the sound of that...and the size of them too!
Run Carey Price this year...I dare you!
"Music is the best." - Frank Zappa
lmao.
not with Mara and Gill around :) also, you gotta count on the placebo effect on the rest of the team, as well.
Who are you people??? Where is all the Gainey bashing. Where is the 'this is a terrible mistake'? I don't get it. YOUR HAPPY?????????????? OK WHAT IS GOING ON? Someones playing a trick on me... Is the world ending?
I've been saying since July 1st that Gainey's wheeling and dealing is far from over...there's one big package deal to be done and the Big V will be the final piece. And I think everyone here knows who's gonna be shipped out before Sept.
I agree with you, Gainey is putting together the team that would definitely attract Vincent or any premier player, Montreal just wasn't attractive with the players we had last year and the year before. Everyone has this idea that know one wants to play here because of the pressure from media. No one wanted to play here because there was no team effort.
Thought Gainey would get lucky with bringing up talent from Hamilton (Price) but I guess the young players will learn allot more from these new UFA's then from the so called leaders that we had.
Remarkable isn't it
Im finally happy but Im not about to praise Gainey, he should have adopted this toughness philosophy a while ago, a lot of us on here kept going on about it, but better late than never. I mean how can you praise a man for finally taking his head out of his ***.
I don't understand this mentality. We have been successful the last couple years. Our team doubled in value, we came first in the east and beat one of the better teams out there 13 games in row. We were the experts pick to win the cup. He gave a good try and last season it all came apart. The glue dried up. We had a GREAT bunch of players. Injuries started to mount up and then we didn't step it up. So now we go in a new direction. If it had of worked better last season we would have kept most of the players. Bob Gainey has ,ade us infinetly better than when we made 1 out of 5 playoffs between 98-03. Its a process in this new CAP era, and Montreal already has a few strikes against it...
So I will sum it up, he tool us from 1 out of 5 seasons in the playoffs to first place in the east. HOW CAN ANYONE WITH ANY OUNCE OF LOGIC CALL HIM UNSUCCESSFUL????
I forgot to mention, 1 out of 5 seasons in playoffs, to 1 out of 5 season missing the playoffs...
Check this out - I saw this on HockeyBoards today - watch to the end of the fight. Moen sure is one tough SOB

The blind haymaker by Moen!!
What number is he taking? Gotta order my shirt!
XXIV...and counting
Holy CRAP. No-look TKO
And for my money, this is good too (although the opponent is a heavyweight..)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3nUe0g63_4&NR=1
I don't think Plekanec is going anywhere though - I think Gainey would move D'Agostini and Chipchura before he gives up on Plek's. He's fast, defensively responsible, and has scored 20 goals three years in a row. He has value, and he works hard AND doesn't have a bullsh*t ego problem.
wow...I'm soon to be at a loss for words....possibly nothing to complain about!!!!
I rally'd for a fighter, then came Larock, I yelled for more grit, specifically North American GRIT and it has arrived big time... I begged to bring up the YOuth Movement because I didn't like the effort or grit from the centennial roster, and we got a peak at them (Pax,D'ags,Stewy) ...folks, we have one hellofateam here!!!
NAG:GIONTA,CAM,GOMEZ,MOEN,GILL,LAPS,LATS,METRO,PAX,STEWY,D'AGS,LAROC,HAMMR,GORGES,OBRYNE
non-NAG:KOSTYs,PLEK,MARK,SPACEK
fantastic!!!!!!
Glad to see you've found your way back! You looked lost for a while.
sad thing is there's a high possibility that all five non-NAGs are on the ice at the same time...oh and for the record hamrlik is czech, but i completely agree that he has NAG, just that he's not actually NAG...
LOL, I knew you'd like it
for once, we agree
I would say that it's not just Pleks gone. If you look at the contracts for next year, it would appear that the salaries committed to next year are around $56.1. Keep in mind that this is including the raise that is mandated by the NHL and NHLPA for our rfa's(but not Plekanec), and Bob Gainey signing Moen to a deal that pays around $1.2m/season. There is no money left to sign Tomas Plekanec. You also have to factor in that we now have these left handed defensemen. Markov, Hamrlik, Gorges, Mara, Gill & Spacek. There is no way that they are all staying, Bob Gainey is too smart to ice a dcorps with 6 left handed shots, he knows that if you do that the opposition will run a rw lock and you'll never get out of your own end due to the inability to breakout of both sides of your zone. So......who's overpaid? It's obvious that Roman Hamrlik's salary is less than desirable and factor in that there are a few teams out there looking for solid blueliners, Columbus, Dallas, Chicago, San Jose. Sure, they have good players like Vermette, Richards, Bolland & Marleau but if anything like that is to happen we'll need to send more salary than just Hamrlik, it would have to include Maxwell or Chipchura, there isn't a lot of depth in the organization at the wing, adding Moen takes a bit of pressure off of Max Pac and puts a bit more on SK but I know there is another deal in the making because there's no money left for a second line centre right now. A TRADE IS LOOMING!!!!
From everything I'm seeing, I really don't think Gainey would get rid of a Dman. if anything, he'll lose a winger to make room for a kid. It seems to me that Gainey is finally happy with his situation on defense.
Interesting. I hope he replaces Tenderness.
I love how BG said, "i think we're done" or something to that effect and then pulls out 2 good character type signings that others may have been drooling to get. I said it before and I'll say it again, the Gomez trade the day before UFA day was genious to start attract others. The players who signed wanted to come here. It's a long season but no one can make fun of our grit and any longer. Gainey knew he had to change the character of this team and his has succeded. I wonder if he is done yet? Pleks is the last of the "girls"...hmmm.
FYI 3 years / $4.5 million.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=4320058
Very reasonable
All the recent moves have given the Habs goaltenders an enourmous amount of cover this off-season. Mr. Price has to take his game up several notches in the next campaign. If he didn't get the message from what Gainey did to last year's roster, he is just unsalvagable.
Well, the contract was already there. He just needed the player and so payed the big price -- & the dominoes fell after that. Glorious!
You know what, even though pretty much nobody likes gomez's contract, including myself. You have to ask, would any of this happened without that trade?
Highly unlikely, but Jacques Martin was a factor IMHO too.
After looking at some of the other signings, Hossa and Gaborik for example, and after looking at some of the other crazy long terms of other contracts, i.e. Lecavalier and Ovechkin, and after realizing the salaries of other NHL players, Thorton, E. Staal, B. Richards, Vanek, and Drury for example, I am less inclined to moan or groan over Gomez' cap hit.
The intangibles go well beyond simple dollars and cents, so after all is said and done, Gomez' salary doesn't seem that out of this world and in essence is palatable, at least to me.
I think so, Showey.Just don't see Gomez as that big a drawing card.
I do. I think that "Gomez is the reason everyone else signed" story is total hogwash. Gomez, say what you want about him, is not an elite player who would attract other players to his team.
I think these guys signed in Montreal for the money, period. Which is fine.
BTW, can you imagine if Gainey actually could have pulled off the Lecavalier trade? He has the same cap hit as Gomez. With all the other moves, we'd be thinking cup. Too bad.
So yeah, I'm still not liking the Gomez trade or the contract. Gionta is a questionable signing at the price. Everything else is spiffy though!
Say, Bill, you look a lot like Kirk Muller...
You can't bring Lecavalier into this. He wasn't available. end of story. (& he could have signed here previously as a UFA but chose the Bolts then.)
But that aside, he has injury questions , which is to say that he's not an unmixed blessing
Is Lecavalier a better choice than Gomez in the ideal world? Yes. And he's francophone, which is huge.
In the real world, is Gomez a plausible alternative, assuming that he has a team built around him to maximise his assets? Yes again. (And, once again, he was available & Vinny wasn't )
I give gainey credit,he had a done deal for vinny, twice. But tampa screwed us over, twice. There isn't a thing gainey could do about it. Tampa probably wanted markov, but that is no dice. Both gionto and cammallari said that gomez was a key reason why they signed here. Maybe they were both talking out of their asses, neither of us know that. But then again,we have had cap space in recent years and couldn't attract a ufa if our life depended on it. Either way,i'm optomistic about this upcoming season.
I hear you, and agree about the contract. I am glad it was a complete make over. We will just have to wait and see...Hab4life
bg...wow. did something happen to him this month. jekyll and hyde or what. a great character player. a player no one likes to play against, tough all over the ice, plays both ends very effectively. i remember him playing against the sens and what mean son of a bitch.
i like this meaner, faster , tougher team to play against.
what ya saying pierre mcguire.
And yet another thing -- people were asking about Captaincy: well, we just got two of them today. A propos my post last week about K-bros & a real old-style captain, if either of the Kostits do thing one that threatens team performance & harmony (listen to Mara on the audio clip on this) -- in fact, if they even look like impairing Gomez's performance -- he will meet them in a quiet corridor and scare them white.
Oh, I love this.
I like your logic. I don't see anyone in the summer additions getting enamored by St Denis night-life.
That's a great point too -- an extra level of good.
Bob Gainey. Where have you been for the last 5 years? Like Rip Van Winkle, you woke up on July the first and with a wad of cash bought us a real hockey team. Any one still questioning whether we make the playoffs? LOL. Here's to hoping we compete against Saku for the cup next year so that even if we loose, we will not be disappointed.
Win / win: absolutely. And on paper (because obviously we haven't seen them play yet) I love how this team will match-up versus Toronto and Boston: I want tickets to those games NOW!
We will kick their *** on the score board, in the corners and in the middle of the ice.
This is really impressive. Where are we at on salary cap? What / who have we got left to spend / sign?
We had about 10.454 mil in cap space prior to the signings, with an addition 1.6 we can move either throw onto next season if need be (via how bonuses work)
Mara = 1.95
Moen = 1.5
This leaves us about 7 mil in cash left to sign our RFAs (I'm assuming the OB get the role as 7th D man on the team, so his 900k will remain against the cap...if he's demoted, then we can subtract that)
RFAs remaining: Plekanec, Latendresse, Max-Pac, D'Agostini, Stewart, Chipchura
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bmAiuaRKow
better then Komi
Well Bob Gainey's actions speak much LOUDER than his words.
While we enjoyed TK's enthusiastic play and MK's "physicality" Moen and Mara will make opponents moan-pun intended-to a significant degree. Mara's one year, injuries and O'Byrn's humongous challenge to elevate his game this year, should only damper temprarily PK's, Weber's and Carle's intensity. If they want to, and we know they do, play in Montreal in the next 6 to 12 months, there is room for them.
Moen brings, I believe, more durability (bigger and stronger than TK) and productivity than TK. Here's some context:
while Moen's +/- is nothing to write home about and his TOI season average over the past 5 years is between 6 and 12 min, the kicker is how well he's played in the playoffs, ex. in 2006-2007 he had 12 points (7 goals and 5 assists) and averaged 21 min, year before 20 min and year after 25. Very impressive performance.
Anybody who calculates well should compare salaries:
Gill + Mara + Spacek vs Komisarek + Beauchemin
1.5 + 1.9 approx + 3.8 vs 4.5 + 3.8
7.3 for Montreal vs 8.3 for Toronto
differential of 1+ player and 1 million in favor of Habs
Markov, Hamrlick and Gill will become UFAs after the 2010-11 season; Spacek will become UFA after 2011-12 season; Mara UFA after 2009-10; O'Byrn and Gorges become RFAs after the 2010-11 season
Gainey has good wiggle room each of the next three years. With PK, Carle and Weber vying for a spot within the next 6 to 12 months, with O'Byrn have a last ditch opportunity to perform up to expectations, and Mara with a one-year contract, there is potentially room for 2 Ds by next season. In the meantime, the D looks quite good, a lot better than many fans and pundits alike thought up until this morning.
Gainey has modified his philosophy: talent is NOT enough. Size matters also. He may be spending a lot in a short time but he has rebuilt the Habs like Holmgren did with the Flyers two years ago. The difference being though that the Flyers went from last to playoff contention and the Habs from 8th to whatever Bob's facelift of the Habs will take us.
I am encouraged by Bob Gainey's intiatives. I didn't believe he could move faster than a bolt of lightning and leap over tall buildings, BUT he appears to have done so.
This team could very well be competitive. Imagine, had BG signed MK at his asking price and Beauchemin at his, I don't believe he could have done the job he has done. Maybe this is what I meant to say, in an earlier post, that Bob Gainey was schizoid and bi-polar: i.e. slow to resign his plethora of UFAs and fast on the trigger to sign the new ones.
Could be that he had a game-plan all along.
Georges
so -- hmm another good signing -- well done Bob i complimented you twice in one day !! ....... maybe just maybe ......... na who am i kidding ..... we are looking better then last year.
i will still and always miss Kovy and Saku ......
but time to change ...... Bob .... you are now ok in my eyes
your loyal fairweather fan fuhgawz
Poor poor Guy... sitting at home watching Bob put together a team that he could work with.

Well, home is where I want Carbo right now -- Martin is to Carbo as Churchill is to Ignatieff.
