A star-studded Boston Bruins alumni team returns to the 2,700-seat Kahnawake Sports Complex on Montreal's South Shore on Oct. 24 for a game, cocktail, auction and dinner-dance to benefit the Kateri Memorial Hospital Foundation and K103 Radio.

Bruins Hall of Famers Ray Bourque, Brad Park and head coach Gerry Cheevers are expected to lead the Boston squad to the 3 p.m. game, to be played against an all-star squad from Kahnawake. Plenty of time, then, to attend the match and still get to the Bell Centre or your favourite sports bar to watch that evening's Canadiens-New York Rangers tilt.

Sponsored by Mohawk/Genivar, the lead engineering firm on the Mercier Bridge redecking project, and its parent, Genivar, the event will also include an already sold-out postgame cocktail, 250-seat dinner, memorabilia auction and dance.

Last year's inaugural game and related events raised more than $110,000 for Kahnawake's Turtle Island Theatre Company and the Kariwanoron Mohawk Immersion School.

The event last fall was highlighted by the $13,000 netted by former Bruins star Bob Sweeney for his signed jersey and four Bruins game tickets in a TD Banknorth Garden loge.

Tickets for the Oct. 24 game, $20 general admission, are available at various points in Kahnawake. Organizers suggest buying in advance at the Sports Complex ticket booth or Goodleaf Auto, both on Route 138.

The Bruins roster or those to attend, subject to change, also includes Rick Middleton, Terry O'Reilly, Six Nations legend Stan Jonathan, Stéphane Quintal, Bob Sweeney, Don Marcotte, Ken Linseman, Bryan Leetch, John Wensink, Normand Léveillé, Bruce Shoebottom, Bruce Crowder, Reggie Lemelin, Rick Smith, Bobby Miller and Matt Ciampini.

They'll be refereed by former retired NHL official Paul Stewart and Châteauguay's Richard Douglas.

The auction will feature more than 100 lots, including sticks, jerseys, pucks and helmets donated and autographed by Bourque, Bruins Hall of Famer Cam Neely, current captain Zdeno Chara, Tim Thomas, Milan Lucic, Michael Ryder, Saku Koivu, Carey Price, Phil Kessel and others. Local businesses have also donated items.

Vendor tables will be set up in the arena for the purchase of select items during the game.
