Win Habs tickets: Guess 20,000th goal

OK, Habs fans, I'm upgrading the "bragging rights only" posted earlier:

Assuming the Canadiens score a goal tonight in Kanata vs. the Ottawa Senators, the franchise will hit the 20,000-goal mark.

So who's your guess? Which player bags the historic goal? Post your guess of ONE player's name here – one entry per Habs Inside/Out member – by 6:30 p.m. EST tonight. All correct answers will be put into a blind draw and I'll choose one name. The winner will receive my two Gazette Bell Centre loge tickets for next Sunday's (Jan. 3) 3 p.m. matinée against the Buffalo Sabres. You'll obviously have to get to the arena on your own, so those readers in Europe or Australia might want to consider the airfare.

I'll make the draw by the end of tonight and the winner's Inside/Out handle will be posted on the site Tuesday morning. He/she can then contact me to make arrangements for the game. Read on...

Today, we take a look back at the distant and recent history and some of the trivia and oddities since the Canadiens have been putting pucks in nets, starting 19,999 pucks ago with Édouard (Newsy) Lalonde in 1910.

Andrei Kostitsyn scored No. 19,999 Saturday night in OT to beat the Maple Leafs, and No. 19,000 in the team's NHL history. Steve Bégin scored No. 19,000 combining the Canadiens' lives in the National Hockey Association and NHL.
