What a piss/poor effort yet again...You would think they would have come out with some fire after last night's joke, but they come out just as bad tonight...
We aren't even going to score a damn goal...
This team is softer than I have thought..Mediocrity at it's best...Win 2 or 3 lose 3 or 4...1 step forward, 2 steps back...Rip it down, salvage what you can at the deadline and build around what we have left...Too many passengers on this train..
Gave this team a break because of the early season injuries but, this TEAM is horrible!
Well if Halak would have started tonight we would known how he'd come back after a loss. All we know now is last night's performance was no fluke and the team plays worse in front of Price. 4 very important points were lost this week and it looks like they couldn't care less
love all these people talking about "us" getting blown away tonight, that price sucks, that he is a basketcase. I tell you, I would be the first guy to ask to leave Montreal if I ever got traded here. We USED to be a hockey mecca, and SOME of us still respect it as such. But the number of FREAKING NUMBSKULLS in this city who want to blame the players we have INSTEAD of the guys who brought them here (yes, you BG, JM and other coaches past), are just....ARRRRRRRRGH! This is NOT a good team over a full season. The balance on this team is in relation to the league (middle of the pack) not the team (2 bona fide first lines balanced with a checking line and your scrappers, coupled with 2 sets of strong D, and a legit #1 goalie IN HIS MID 20s).
Love them or hate them, these are your Habs. Me? I love the TEAM, hate the team.
Okay, I usually don't say much here, for obvious reasons, re: Bugs/Headbanger/Timo et al.
Let me say 1st. I love the Habs. Tattoo on my back showing all their cups. I just dont know what to make of this team this year, is it BG, Price, Halak, JM or me. I almost dread watching the beginning of the game, wondering what team will show up. The one that gives up 2 or 3 early goals (tonights team) or the ones who trashed the Rangers the other night.
I do know this tho. We as fans need to stand behind them and support them, no matter what. We all (90%) loved Kovy and he barely showed up on some nights. Why dont we give the whole team the same devotion that he got. Yes we can have our criticism, but do we have to beat it into the ground every single day. Im sure BG is not sitting in his office going, eh... I know we can do better but this scotch is awesome. No he is tossing and turning in his bed more than any one of us. Not because its his job, but because he bleeds blue blanc et rouge. Yes we need some changes, but if we listened to everyone on here, we would be changing everyone on the ice and in the offices.
Bottom line for me is....... I guess I dont have one except, I love my team, and those of you who dont, I fart in your general direction!!!!

It's a crappy game to watch, but as Demers put it during the 1st intermission, we were expecting the Habs to be fighting for a playoff spot. 7-8-9th place... that's what's happening.
I'm not saying not to be hopeful, but let's not hang the players just yet.

It's not Price.
We can't score, plain and simple. Carry the puck in and loose it. If we don't score on the first rush we're lost. This is because most of our good players are too small, nice, talented guys just to damned small. Most of our defense are very very slow and not organized. More than half the season gone...this is also a result of poor coaching. Jm is no improvment on Carbo.
We must be sellers at deadline and not buyers. Let's hope Gainey doesn't get sucked in by some con man like Burke.
Go young and grow with them like the PITTS, WASH, LA, COL, PHX, NYI. Otherwise we will be in the middle or bottom half of the pack like we've been since "93. Look at the Laffs......1967!

No player on the Habs strikes fear in opposing teams. Kovalev did, on occasion.
Cammalleri has more goals in 54 games than Kovalev did in 78. Markov is also way more intimidating that Kovalev.

I heard a while back on this site that Nahlsy has posted elsewhere and has been banned from other sites, one of his techniques being to create multiple accounts and answer to himself in support. The other technique of his is to create another account similar to another person he doesn't like and try to make that person come across negatively to try and score points by getting people onto his side.
I did a search for HardHabits recently and found out that somebody (or people) has (or have) been posting as HardHabits yet I rarely if ever post elsewhere using this name. The only other time that I can remember that I posted elsewhere as HH was on JT's blog when she wrote the article about tanking.
Nahsly is a troll plain and simple. If he doesn't agree with someone he doesn't argue a point, he just flames that person. I love baiting all the idiots that do that.
Anyone who said smack about my Carey Price, Superstar joke is either a troll or a wannabe troll and if you think otherwise than you're exhibiting trollish behaviour.
I am going to retract or actually redact the last paragraph.
Most of people who said smack about my Carey Price, Superstar joke are the trolls or the wannabe trolls and it is they who exhibited that behaviour in their responses. Many people saw the joke, and those people I have the closest affinity to. Others were offended because they have an emotional attachment to Price. Of this group a few answered respectfully while not hiding their disapproval. Those individuals I respect for their POV but make no apologies. The others who replied in insults, those are the ones I am labelling as trolls.
However I have still read from these so-called trolls many times where they have made good insights and added to the debate.
I guess lately the Habs' bi-polar on ice play is not helping. I can only hope that the ones of you who are getting pissed off at each other, and at me for that matter, just chill out and try and see the humour in many of the posts that make their way into these pages.

Look - because I see what your trying to say - and do agree, so long as Price still wears the bleu-blanc-rouge, why as fans would we make it worse for him in any way. IF indeed Price is being shopped (I certainly hope not) I would think EVERYONE that is a Hab fan would want HIGHEST return on investment possible. Does this not imply we desire Price to succeed & win ? So his value is not tarnished ???
Someone once debated with me the power of our posts on sites such as these do not affect the team. I disagree to this day, I see it not as a necessarily "direct" impact. But the power of internet has really added a new element to Hockey. With Montreal this problem is SO MUCH more amplified by the scrutiny no other NHL team faces. My point ultimately here, is the more negative & bashing the posts are directed at "players" of our favorite team... The more the influence grows, & with the Habs - it spreads like wild-fire. Till every single media outlet is talking about it, and THEN the players surely will have heard about it.
Re: the Price Vs. Halak drama. I personally have taken a step back & really tried to stay out of the Vs. or anything negative, what is the point.
I do wish that the Halak supporters (not all do the next part) who DO call Price supporters very insulting names would stop going too far. JUST as much as I would wish Price supporters who also (not all Price supporters go to the extreme keep in mind) DO call Halak supporters some rather insulting names ... ;)

Are you suggesting that we might trade one of our goalies to toronto? Ew I really hope not. I don't understand teams that trade goalies within their own conference let alone to a division rival? Seems like they would be asking for it to bite them in the behind.
I can foresee Tuukka Rask and the Bruins eliminating the Leafs in the first round and then going all the way to win the cup.
