For the time being, the Puckcast will not be on the mobile version of the site, but there are plans to make that available eventually.
We’ve also tweaked the main Habs Inside/Out website to reflect some of the features you will now receive on the mobile version. We have added the same schedule and real-time score information, as well as the player stats and rosters, to the Web version of the site. To accommodate that, you will notice a new-look menu at the top of the site.
To make room for these new features, we had to move the Summit section off the main menu, but it will find a new home down the side of the page, so look for it there, along with the Puckcast.
Even though this is a mobile WAP version of the site, remember all you have to do is go to habsinsideout.com on your phone and you will be automatically redirected to the mobile site.
make an app for the iphone!
I agree! Id love to read up on Habs I/O in class on my iPhone instead of listen to lectures.
NO COMMENTS SECTION ON MOBILE? WTF?
You guys need to add an option that allows the browser to switch back to 'Full version' so that people can view things the way they do on their home computers.
Most websites that offer mobile versions have this option.
The mobile version is worthless without the comments section
Windows 7 / IE 8 combination loads the mobile automatically.
Look at my comment further down... until they fix it on the server side, you can download a tool for IE8, "Set UA String" that will let you view the "regular" site in IE8.
The thing is, this UA String for most people is too long and when the servers sees this long string, it just tosses it over to the mobile side.
I have confirmed 100% this is the problem - at least in that I can replicate it easily and if I am running a shortened UA string, the site works.
I sent an e-mail to Kevin Mio to pass this information along to the site developers (is it still Dru?).
I would agree with others that they should probably have a link that takes you to the non-mobile version of the site (but again, I think that would have to have some logic in it so that it doesn't redirect people incorrectly to the mobile version if they don't want to go there.)

GO HABS GO!
no comment section???
i always used my blackberry to visit this site and was able to view/make comments.. now with the new mobile site we can't..
i really hope this gets changed..
I appreciate the idea and efforts, but the fact is it has destroyed me Habs I/O experience on my iPhone! The main problems are:
-no comments section
-Boone's live blog is absent
-pictures sometimes don't appear
I understand that the mobile site might be useful for basic phones with simple browsers, but for full HTML broswers like the iPhone, the full site worked perfectly. The mobile site is crippling.
I really hope there will be an option to switch to the desktop site, as being locked to the mobile site on the iPhone cripples Habs I/O
SWeet, thanx you, all mightee softwarez developpers! I iz enjoying the fruitz of ur labor!!! Now I havz 1 leetle reeqwest!! I would luv there 2 b a free iphone/itouch app!!!! :) :) Thanx be 2 u stillz, oh gloriouz softwarez engineerz!
GARBAGE!
the mobile version of this site is complete and utter SHITE!
I have visited this website on my iPhone for months with complete access to all the posts and with the ability to make posts as well.
The "new and improved" mobile version has none of these features. How is this better?
Mio writes, "It’s the same great website you have all come to love, but now you can take it with you wherever you go." What a complete and bold faced lie.
Anyone thinks this is a positive move obviously doesn't realize the short comings of the mobile version. I almost threw up in my coffee when I read the large ad at the top of the sports section touting this move as the greatest thing since image enabled web browsers.
I was wondering what it would take for me to cancel my home subscription; I finally have my answer.
A simple link to the full version of the site would solve all these problems. Somehow, the idiots who have built the mobile version have convinced the powers that be that this would be too hard or somehow impossible to achieve.
GARBAGE! Even TSN.ca has this feature on its mobile version as do the vast majority of mobile sites.
MAJOR FAIL on the part of the Gazette.

Still unable to view the comments or to make a post. Great idea but needs to some adjustments. I would love to also have the choice of going to the main site or the mobile.
I agree that the mobile site it a great idea, but having a link to the full site from the mobile version would be great too.
Problem being the live-blog portion of Boone's game blog wouldn't show up on the mobile version...and apparently the comments don't either...
For all those that are still able to communicate on here.
Getting back to hockey, does anyone know if Chara is playing tonight.?
And I wonder if our boys have to take extra care with their heads in light of the foul mood from the Savard incident. Especially when we do not have any muscle on our bench.
Yesterday someone on NHL home ice (XM radio) said he played in their last game, so i assume he'll be playing tonight.
He's not on their injured list and he's not in the pre game notes as being hurt so looks like yes...
Awesome! Great job guys!!!
I was wondering if anyone knows of a link for a good quality 2009/2010 team photo of the Habs. Thanks.
I have a great one if I can e-mail it to you. I will try.
Ian
I tried to send through the site and I coud not. sorry
Great job guys for helping us crazy obsessed Habs fans know everything that is going on as soon as possible. THANK YOU...
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey...
A really really great step forward for HIO. I always visited the site on my phone already. The mobile version is a terrific idea. I'm sure that adding the comments section to the mobile site is currently in works, after all it was what generates the conversations and views for the site.
Great stuff.
How come i cant access the comments page on my phone anymore, is this going to be fixed or will i never get to see what ppl have to say while im on my phone. This is a big problem in my mind
Working now, but looking back at the last live blog, the actual blogging is still not showing up. Only the title and the paragraph at the top.
If someone from the site reads this, please add a link to use the old site. Not giving us the option is a bad idea. I've been using the regular site from my iPhone ever since I've had it. Personally, I find mobile sites to be a pain in the a|ss.
I've been accessing HI/O from my gf's phone (don't have internet meself) for months...
"love cannot drown truth, Nefertiti"
That's a great name. guys, congratulations!
I am not sufficiently technological (or monied) to have a fancy 'interweb phone', but this is a great idea.
---Hope Springs Eternal---
Things are working just fine here boys and girls. But then again I don't have a cell.
I started to get the mobile version on my laptop Thursday night during your game blog and I can't get the website page back. I don't know if i clicked on something by mistake or not. Does anybody know how to get it off mobile and back to the website page.
THIS IS A HUGE, HUGE PROBLEM!!! (someone please alert Dru!)
For troubleshooting purposes, I am running Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 8. I suspect that there will be a decent percentage of people running IE8 that will have this problem.
I have all but confirmed this is a problem with the way in which this site handles the longer User-Agent String seen in IE8.
For anyone technical looking into this, my UA string is:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 3.0.30618; Media Center PC 5.0; OfficeLiveConnector.1.3; OfficeLivePatch.0.0; SLCC1)
Going to www.habsinsideout.com is always redirecting to m.habsinsideout.com - traditionally, there have been some problems with ie8 being redirected to mobile sites.
Prior to the m.habsinsideout site going live I never had problems accessing the site, so I think the fact that there's now browser detection logic running it's gumming up the works for some of us.
Is there any way to change this server-side?
For those of you looking for workarounds, go to these places:
http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/InternetExplorer/thread...
http://www.enhanceie.com/ua.aspx
http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp#longheaders
AND, there's a great tool (again a workaround) you can install that will fix this
http://www.enhanceie.com/ietoys/uapick.asp
You can then go to Tools, Set UA string and use older browsers. NOT an ideal option, obviously!

GO HABS GO!
Same here. The mobile version is automatic on my laptop through Explorer. The old version still seems to work on my laptop at work though. The old version also works on my alternative browser - Opera.
I have had the same problem w/ Internet Explorer on my laptop since Thursday. I thought I had done something on my broweser. Now it makes sense. However, I have been able to access the normal page via friefox w/out problems.
I'm really glad you guys did this. There are a good many nights when I am off in the wild blue yonder, or at bars, etc, when they only way I have to track the games progress is Boone's liveblog. And refreshing the full site on Windows Mobile takes a while.
Fan freakin'-tastic. As someone who has been negotiating the HIO site on a blackberry for the past year, this is great news. This will make following games much, much easier!
Same problem with the iPhone: Thingee-no-workee.
Thanks team for the nice work, could it be possible to have access to the comments section on this mobile version? I've been following this site for a while and one of the reasons for that is being able to follow those never ending discussions on rumors, goalies, trios, duos, etc on my iPhone.
not loading on my Blackberry!
"We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets "
Having problems loading HIO on my I phone, always worked before
"It's not an obsession, It's a way of life.."
HIO mobile would be the ONLY reason that I would get a cell phone. I hate the damn things. There a menace to society!
Keith, it is hard enough for me to keep up with the tecknowledgey that I have already so I don't think I need to be tied to a cell phone also. But if it works for others, great!
True enough Ian, and I like technology as I work with it everyday. I just don't care for cell phones and don't own one.
here's what boone said after the win over the oilers It will be different on Saturday when the Bruins are in town.Jaro and his teammates will need their A-game.
here's what Kevin Mio is saying this morning: Carey Price is likely to get the start after Jaroslav Halak looked less than stellar in Montreal's 5-4 win over Edmonton in a shootout on Thursday.
think its only the fans who have a goalie controversy??
yo - M. Mio - when your team has won 4 straight and you're playing a key game against a huge rival, maybe you should keep the goalie who has gotten you there. last time price played we were losing 3-0, switched to halak, and we have not lost since!!
no goalie controversy - you win, you're in; point finale!!
Yea but they put that up to hook the clowns who love to beat a dead horse.!
Let me get this straight...If Price or Halak let in 8 goals, but the team wins 9-8, that goalie should get the next start because the team won...Even in spite of the goalie...Really? I mean really? Interesting.
I was a huge spos fan - saw the first game at olympic stadium in 1977 vs the phillies - was at the only playoff game the spos ever won on hime turf - a friday night 4-1 win vs dodgers - jerry white hit a huge home run that night IN 1981 - I can go on and on and on about the spos - my true love in sports!!!
now to get to your point - all things being equal, if a team wins 9-8 and the winning goalie plays terrible and starts and finishes the game
I still start that goalie who gave up 8 goals - but he might not finsh the next game if my team falls behind by 3 goals.
but you're right- there is a point when we need to consider things a little more closely.
Love those 'spos!!
Not loading at all on my I phone 3GS.
Yea, Im having the same problem\It says server not responding
"It's not an obsession, It's a way of life.."
@sensfan
you have no idea how many habs fans live away from montreal/canada and cannot always be on line to discuss the game, hear live comments on the game etc. i live in hong kong but there are many regular contributers to this fine site that live in europe, asia etc. i have actually got pretty good service on the existing site on my blackberry but i will try the new thing too. i appreciate the effort that has gone into all this and appreciate all those who help keep us out of town habs fans in the loop. keep up the good work guys (and gals)!
Big James
Can't people just go to the game and you know, watch the game? I was at the Bell earlier this year and couldn't believe all the people who were watching the game on the big scoreboard instead of on the ice. Good for HIO for being more accessible, and no offence but I think if I was at the game the last thing I'd be doing is updating Mike Boone's blog.
actually, what makes it great is being able to read Boone's opinion of the way the Habs are playing that particular night. I was at the game last month and every break I'd check on my phone and read comments from Boone and everyone else. Makes the game very enjoyable. More so!
That's great, I can use my BB and sit on my arse in front of the tv more.
Best news ever. Perfect for someone like me who is always on the go - yet constantly checking HIO, load times and coding for BB Curve 8330 were atrocious.
having trouble loading it now... hoping it is just weather/location related?
Nope, It's not loading. They had it going on Thursday night, I dunno if it was a test run or what, but the actual body of Boone's blog wouldn't display. I could only see the title and the paragraph at the top. Surely that's fixed, but I honestly had no problem with the old site's load times on my iPhone.
One thing that was sorely lacking from the page that was up Thursday was a link to the normal site. If that's still not there, can you please add it? I'm not a fan of mobile sites, in general, but that one looked pretty good to me.
