Hmmm... posted this on the wrong thread. What's going on with all these threads? I can't keep up. Well here's what I had to say:
The nice thing about the Kostitsyn deal is that Gainey leap frogged his brother's RFA year. So now when it's time for Sergei to resign Gainey can say, "hey stick around, your brother will be here too next year". No joke, I think that's really smart and an important part of the deal. Yeee Haaww
But Gainey is Chief sitting still! didn't you hear?
I think I got something like that Teach but, to be honest, I can't keep up with everything that's going on and Boone is making it crazy with all these posts. Your referring to a few wankers who seem to be intent on ruining the fun for the rest of us, aren't you? Is there no weeding out process on this site? This is the first forum I have ever joined and I am not sure how it all works.
Correct.
There used to be a weeding out process but Dave Stubbs is on Olympic duty and the moderators seem content to let these idiots keep repeating the same useless tripe.
Oh well, can't ruin my day. Happy Canada Day by the way!
Same to you Buddy :)
Hah, I called it to within 0.25 million (and what's $250,000 between buds??).
I love AK46 - one of my two favorite players, but let's give him a chance to show us how he develops. Playing along Kovalev and Pleks is one thing... let's see what he can do over the 3 years. At least now we have time - he could be just good, or he could become a star. We'll see!
Anyway, a good deal for everyone I think - AK and the Habs. Well done Bob - and Andrei!
~Listen to the smart dog!
Awesome deal for both. By then he will (hopefully) be ready for a raise and an extension.
That, by the way, is the first signing today that has made any sense to me financially. You gotta give it to the Habs for keeping their heads.
Spectors got " DEVELOPING story: THE TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING HAVE A DEAL IN PLACE WITH UFA GOALTENDER OLAF KOLZIG. DETAILS TO FOLLOW. "
Huet to Chicago?
Really? I'd like that.
They couldn't keep both Huet and Khabibulin @ $6.750 already, unless they moved him to OTT??
It's on TSN now.
Wow - I am just surprized since they seemed have a #1... I still think we'll see something give in that position.
Boone, what's with the multiple thread frenzy?
TO signs CuJo and Jeff Finger... oh yeah, that will save their franchise.
NICE! i wonder if i would have gambled and offered him 4 mil for 6 or 7 years to keep him 'til he was 30. but this is great news nonetheless. it's more than what he's worth, but it's a relief with all that bloated contracts that have been signed thus far. I mean...Jeff Finger? 3.5 million a season??? it had to be the Leafs, of course.
I'm not sure Kostitsyn or his agent would have been excited about him signing for that long at 4 million. He will be well worth the 3.25 per season. As you mentioned bloated contracts have been an issue, but Kostitsyn's contract will likely be a bargain in the third year with a cap hit like this.
More than what he's worth?! Clearly the market would support him getting a lot more money than $3.25 million for 3 years. AK46 definitely took a discount to play in Montreal with his bro.
Bob I never doubted you. Not even for a second.
For all thos GMs throwing money out of the window...watch and learn how to build a Cup winning team.
If we don't sign anybody else I don't mind. Bob did the right moves...let's see if the pieces fall in place.
That's a solid contract. Great job.
Poll announced that 41 % have canadians as Canada team 24 % Toronto.
Finally!!
Awesome deal. In Bob We Trust.
Toronto signed Jeff Finger. fresh off TSN
for 4 years.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Toronto gets Fingered!

Great news!
It means the Habs will have more room in their team salary cap!
