Well, this better be a signing for Hamilton. Denis sucks and I'd be really sad if this was setting up Halak's exit.
Halak will be an insanely good goalie in this league. If we can't keep him at least play him a bit before trading him so his value is higher...
whats this talk about deals and all? Hes going to Hamilton because they only have one goalie. Its a two way contract so he is surely going there.. Its still going to be Halak and Price up in MTL I think anyway.
Denis will do fine in Hamilton where he can atleast gain some confidence back and maybe have another chance in the NHL.

Ok... Got past my initial reaction of shock and snark. Maybe he can help the young guys at training camp and provide a steady hand for the dogs.
Does anyone think we could trade him to toronto if we told them he was Danis? Fletcher can't tell the difference between Sauer and Finger, how the hell could he possibly tell the difference between Danis and Denis?
I am not sure I even want to know how much the contract is, two way or not.

Good choice for Hamilton. Hope Rollie can get his game back on track... he was a decent NHL goalie at one point in time.
He's our third stringer. I hope we never have to use him, but it's good that we have an experienced choice and aren't forcing Desjardins to jump from ECHL action to NHL action within a season.

And if Halak gets moved we have a decent back-up for Jesus.

Denis is not a bad goalie. As someone already pointed out, Tampa and Columbus are not exactly tight defensive teams. A save pct of .900 is not bad...not great, but decent. He's been around awhile, is definitely a backup goalie, and might be just what Price needs, for whom I suspect the Habs would turn the earth upside down for.
Halak may be trade bait...and he's good trade bait.
Looks like a sign and trade is coming up for Halak. Too bad (and probably for draft picks). I'm not convinced Price can play over 60 games yet. I guess we get to find out this year...

getting Laraque is good, but not the next coming. We still need a center. Getting Denis is a joke. not even good enough for Hamilton. What is Bob thinking? I think he got french players to appease the french media.
Denis is the buffer between Halak and Cedric Desjardins maturation. An experienced goalie should be able to turn it around , Curtis Joseph did.

I heard a few days ago, something was blocking on Gorges resigning. Can't remember where i saw it. Any ideas or news on him or any of the RFA's that need to be signed?

With a two way deal they can go back and forth (minors - nhl) without having to clear waivers.
Showey is right. He is probably not going to Hamilton. I would imagine Cedric Dejardins, the goalie they signed this morning, would be headed for Hamilton. Denis is probably slated as our back-up. Halak is on the block. Something is up. Something's brewing!

I'd rather have Halak than Denis. I know any GM wants at least one veteran goalie on the roster, but Marc is highly unlikely to lead us anywhere, and we need to retain Halak. At the least, his trade value will be higher after a full season in the big league.
