The Canadiens web site also lists the iPod favourites of Sergei Kostitsyn (lots of hip-hop), Carey Price (no surprise: country), Maxim Lapierre (all over the map) and Guillaume Latendresse (mostly Québecois bands).
Interesting that Lapierre's list includes Crazy and Vertigo, each of which is played at every single home game at the Bell Centre.
Come on, Boone.
LOL i love you Boone!
Ex nihilo nihil fit
Wake Me Up Before You Go Go?? Really?? C'mon Josh, you cant be serious. This is almost as bad as the time I heard a guy request a Pet Shop Boys song on the radio.
The summit sounds really great! Looking forward to meeting all the great posters from HIO. The fact of raising money for the Gainey Foundation is even more incentive! Keep me posted!

The Garth Snow comment on the Nolan pink slip is as follows:
"Ted has helped us achieve some success over the last two seasons, however it has become clear that we have philosophical differences and have decided together to part ways," said Snow. "Since last season and continuing into the summer, I have realized we do not share the same philosophies. I would like to thank Ted for his two years with the team and wish him the best."
What was the Nolan philosophy that the Islanders didn't agree with? Winning?

I'm with you on this one, Chuck. I've always though of Nolan as a top notch coach. I think Snow is scared that Wong is going to figure out that Nolan is 10 times the hockey man, then Snow is.
After the Milbury/Yashin debaucle, you'd think Wong would see the writing on the wall. Especially after Snow's long term contract with DiPietro.
We should also take into consideration, that Muckler tried to have Nolan black listed for life as a coach because Nolan thought Muckler was a &^uck up and had the balls to tell the ownership in Buffalo. Nolan has a rep as a GM buster.
I agree with you that Nolan is a good coach. I have no thoughts yet on Snow other than his background seems a little shaky. However, I'm thinking the Dipietro deal is starting to look better and better each year.$4.5m for a starting goal of his calibre ain't that bad. 15 year is a long time, though
I guess you right, ebk, especially after watching the money some of the fools (GM's) forked out for mediocre players. However, if something should happen to Dipietro, it might back fire on them. I guess only time will tell.
I'm pretty sure all the other teams are salivating when they look at our goaltending tandem and how much it's costing us.
I like Dipietro and $4.5 seems reasonable but like you say, time will tell.
All you have to do is look at Ottawa and the contract they threw at Emery. When Murray signed Emery to a three year contract, after their play off run in 2006/7, and after Hasek quit on them.
Emery was hailed as the conquering hero. Now he's a Russian Crackhead Zero.
What part of being a backup goaltender with no front office experience is not good preparation for being a GM?
I use to wonder why CBC and other broadcasters like to have goalies as commentators. I think Greg Millen is the worst colour man I have ever heard. Is it the 'flake' appeal?
I'm willing to bet money, that's why CBC gave us Millen and Knob Hole for our play off run this year. Incompetence personified.
It's actually smart thinking on the part of the CBC: an incompetent colour guy makes Cole sound better.

well, when you state it that way, I might be wrong.
Depending on the date of the Summit, I'll try to make it this year. Missed out last year.

Yes, I can help you find the Holy Grail!
Those guys IPOD recommendations really suck. 2 of them had Billie Jean by Michael Jackson wtf!!! No wonder we lost all the battles in the corners last spring.
Empty Netter - Pittsburgh Post Gazette - A product of boredom - The Top Active Scorer per Franchise...........................................Yeah, we're going through hockey withdrawal.
Anyway, we listed each team, the top active scorer, that player's points with that franchise and where they rank all-time with their respective organization.
For the sake of making things easier, we included Teemu Selanne with the Ducks and Joe Sakic with the Avalanche even though each of those players is considering retirement and are currently unrestricted free agents.
Please keep in mind this list means absolutely nothing. It's simply the product of boredom.
Team Player Points Overall Ranking
Anaheim Ducks Teemu Selanne 689 1
Atlanta Thrashers Ilya Kovalchuk 466 1
Boston Bruins Glen Murray 389 25
Buffalo Sabres Maxim Afinogenov 314 19
Calgary Flames Jarome Iginla 762 3
Carolina Hurricanes Rod Brind'Amour 403 4
Chicago Blackhawks Patrick Sharp 120 97
Colorado Avalanche Joe Sakic 1,629 1
Columbus Blue Jackets Rick Nash 276 2
Dallas Stars Mike Modano 1,283 1
Detroit Red Wings Nicklas Lidstrom 938 5

Ian, C-Man has already put up a website. I don't want to take his spot.
I can help out with some communication maybe - I set up a Facebook site we can use for the coordination group. Maybe I could do "Communications" or something like that since that's my trade... and basically play support to your role, doing some of the written communications, etc.
Habschick also offered to help with some of the on-the-ground planning a page or two back which is great.
Ian - can you send me any more email addresses and names you have - it would be good to get all these people on one (outside) list.
OR... if people email me directly at rob AT alphasearch DOT ca I can put that list together.
Sound okay Ian?
~Listen to the smart dog!
Sent my contact info AND like I said... I'll help out in any way possible as well.

Lots of room, food, music etc, AND they play Canadiens games etc and is home to some Hockey Shows with the Teamm 990
Just a thought
I like the Brasserie Brunoise for dinner. The food is superb and it's right across from the Bell Center. Always a great place to go before the game.
Seen Sundin?
The owners there a freakin' great, too! A fine suggestion!

Yeah, Willie and Zack...great guys! Even though Zack is a Bruins fan! He told me a neat story about one cold winter evening, business was dead and who walk in but Bob Gainey himself. There was a game on the tube and they got a chance to talk hockey for awhile...nice atmosphere.
Seen Sundin?
I made it down to the final game of the season and the last game of the Bruin series, and both times I happened to be wearing my Shutt jersey. Zack remembered me from that jersey and bought me a couple of pints of Keiths.
And I have to agree about the food. The steaks were great! That place would definitely have my vote.
