Do we really need an indecisive, non-competitive, happy to be in toronto amd just show up at the rink, ex-Laff to "put us over the top"? Talk about disappointing.

What I find interesting about all this is that McKenzie has NO opinion so far. If he doesn't say anything, I have a feeling it is because no one really knows.

Maybe he's on vacation. Perhaps fishing in Sweden?

Habemus. Hmmm. Not declared yet. Habermas maybe, and all his analytic successors of social context if I am actually able to read all the spindly threads of this very, very long writing outcry, outpouring and discourse, and no one really knows. Sorry, just reading, but I understand. Major Habs fan. But I thought Yeats (whoever you are) said it all very eloquently the other night about Sundin and our team. I have nothing to add to that summary.
Questions
Who do you think will be the first player to challenge Laraque?
Outcome?
Good idea to have him?
And of course about Laraque you are also talking to some people (well me and my late Dad) who absolutly loved Chris Nilan just because he was from Boston (the real enemy since the 1850s), played for Montreal (the good guys) and was a really, really tough s...t who could also really play (very hard) hockey. Lots of NHL people hated Nilan, but in our town (Beaconsfield, Quebec) he is a minor god. For me, the best "tough guy" besides Fergy, embodying all the pest and crapola you could possibly want but no real dirt. However, he was able to go slightly off tack if provoked....
chris nilan is my all time favorite montreal player, i was 16 years old and i save my money from working at pizzera, grabbed a flight-went to montreal--i waited 3 hrs outside the forum to see him after his morning practice--i mmet him-i was the happiest kid, and that night he fought curran on boston-i was going nuts in the forum

I'll never forget when NILAN was sent off the ice and he punched the exit sign on his way through the tunnel and shattered it....pure brilliance.... anyone remember that?

I still think fondly of the game where Nilan got into a fight with Paul Baxter of the Rangers and wasn't done when they were sent to the penalty box. So what does Nilan do? He reaches down into the scorekeeper's area, where they keep the replacement pucks and he wings one at Baxter's head. It's that kind of creativity that showed that Nilan was more than just a fist on skates.
Andrew Peters and laraque will demo him. Laraque will play a bigger role than most people think. I wouldn't be surprised to see him parked in front of the net on the powerplay occasionally.
Looking forward to the habs home opener against the bruins because we both know laraque will want to make a statement at his first game at the bell center. He will be looking to fight chara and maybe lucic.

I'm too lazy to read all the way through this post to see if anyone said it, but if Mats signs with the Habs, we should all celebrate by going to Ikea and buying flat-pack bookshelves and lingonberry jam.
The best way for Sundin to end his career is going for the Cup in Montreal. That being said, whatever he decides is up to him and his family, so bellyaching about Gainey won't change anything. I think that the Habs right now are better, but there's more up side with Sundin on the squad. The depth up the middle would be the envy of the East: Sundin, Pleks, Koivu and Lapierre, with Chipchura (what else?) chipping in.
Pater noster, qui es in caelis, sanctificetur nomen tuum...
Come on Mats, do the right thing! And I'm not one bit ashamed to covet him, either. I don't care about his CV...only his final decision. And if it's not Montreal, then so be it. Our team will still be a great team.
Habs Inside/Out encourages lively debate, but there is a zero-tolerance policy regarding racism, profanity and behaviour that we deem to be offensive. We will, without warning, ban those who do not abide by this simple rule, so as to maximize the enjoyment of readers and participants of both sexes and all ages.

Laraque has a very forceful method of communicative reason.

I'm with you. Twenty games into the season, picking up Georges will be seen as one of Bob's best moves ever.

Why the hell do I always agree with you two Neanderthals? I'd loved to see him smoke that freak of nature Chara.
