STRANGE QUESTION: I know Komisarek is Montreal's NHLPA rep, but who are the OTHER 29 TEAMS reps for 2008/2009? NHLPA website doesn't have it, any ideas?

Just a little note for folks who tap into stuff at my site.
My home computer was hit with a sever virus this week - thanks to some uploaded pics from Yahoo.
All my files from future posts were saved, but indelibly scrambled. It might take me a few days to get running again. Thanks for your patience.
With all of the research and information you must have on your computer, I hope that you're somehow backing it up remotely. It would be a huge shame if you lost all of your hard earned work and fruits of your labour.

tc.denault@habsworld.net
I got lucky! It is all backed up and saved. Trouble is, where it once was all organized and tidy, it is a big mess now. Files and folders all over with no names, etc. 70 gigs worth!
Needless to say, I learned alot about computers this week!
... thanx RDS for nuttin'. Live streaming? Great! Not free?? Absolutely hideous!!
Submitted by Corporate on Sat, 09/06/2008 - 09:05.
Well who would purchase the channel if the games would be streamed free on the internet. Secondly, the price per game is reasonable for the bandwidth they have to use to strem it. Assuming they are streaming DVD quality

Koivu for Prime Minister...
... well Corporate, your argument falls short, and only holds water if you assume everyone on this discussion list has access to, and can sign on to RDS. I for one don't.
those of us that live overseas. i subscribed to nhl.com last year, and paid us$160 (if i remember correctly) for virtually every game in the nhl including playoffs. of course i only watched habs games, and more often than not we got the other team's announcers, which sucked, but at least i saw the damn games, even if it was morning my time.
so my question is, will this streaming be available to people outside quebec/canada?
oh yeah, one other question Corporate...koivu for prime minister of what country?! LoL
Are you the restaurant guy? You don't have to answer of course but am amazed at the Hab fans from all over the world getting involved here at this site.My son just came back from 3 years in Korea but still able to watch the games on-line.
not sure what you mean abt the restaurant guy... i live in hong kong and i love restaurants, but i'm not sure that qualifies me as "the restaurant guy"! anyway, i am a habs fan!
Sorry, had read a few years back of a Canadian guy going to Hong Kong and operating several successful restaurants.I'm sure there would not be many Canadian guys over there and anyhow ,it is cool to have input from so far away.My eldest son just came back from 3 years in Korea so you are either visiting here or up very late.

In TampaBay.com Bolt's Owner Len Barrie stated - Barrie fires back at Torts
Lightning owner Len Barrie could not let pass comments made by John Tortortella during a radio interview in Ottawa. The former coach, fired after last season's last-place finish, said he had "zero respect" for Barrie and fellow owner Oren Koules, and called them "a couple of cowboys."
Said Barrie late Friday night: "What were there, nine openings for coaches? That's why he's working for TV. I'll be sure I wear my cowboy hat for the first game."

I'm impressed with TK's stats here. Was aware that Therrian had highly recommended him to Carbo but unaware of his AHL career...certainly showed leadership to go with the courage and grit he has shown us.
Nightmare;keep up the great work dude!!Come to this site first thing every morning to see what is happening in the hockey world and read your links while having my first cup of java.Really enjoy and appreciate your efforts.
Robert - Take it easy here, my friend. The last thing we need is to have all this recognition and appreciation going to Bryan's head. I don't want him walking around Montreal like a proud peacock. By the way, guys like you and Bryan will be asked to park your laptops at the Summit and strictly get by on your cerebral knowledge and interpersonal skills. The standing ovations will be put on hold until that time:-)
On a serious (and sincere) note, I too look forward each morning to see what NM49 uncovers on a daily basis. Very informative posts that open up 'mini threads' for our perusal and discusssion. Thanks, Bryan!

Steve - Who are you kidding , how can you test us on our hockey knowledge when your eyes will be checking out all the talent on Crescent Street and your head will be in a Cialis fog, lol.
Steve, I am up to that cerebral task 24/7/365. Nothing could be any more fun. Pick my brain at the Summit - you'll see I am for real, my friend!
We'll share all kinds of smiles and giggles, for sure!
Christ, I would have to become accountable and responsible!
I'm afraid I am too much of Joe Schmo obsessed Habs Fan slob to ever make a creditable living from it.
I'd rather be paid in smiles and handshakes!

HF - It's going to be slow till the Rookie camp starts on the 15th then training camp and exibition games and i love checking out the transaction wire as teams form their starting rosters. Our roster shouldn't change much but it will be interesting to see how our prospects make out in the exibition games. Teams like the Lightning , Kings and laffs will be a free for all if not a circus. Thanks for listening and being aboard for the ride.
In my defense,I have been reading Robert and JT too much. However, will also admit being jealous of those with creative skills such as theirs,a talent I lack.

Sean Avery was at the charity game .. toronto sun ..... The always-controversial Sean Avery was in the house last night and admitted having an interest in coming to the Leafs this summer.
"I said I wanted to play here ... but they didn't seem to want me. I guess they wanted to stay in last place," said Avery, taking a shot at the Leafs.
This is the same Sean Avery, a Pickering native, who told Sun Media last season that he didn't like coming back to play in Toronto "because I don't enjoy hockey-obsessed Canadians."
Last night marked the first time Avery had played hockey since being rushed to hospital with a lacerated spleen after a playoff game between his New York Rangers and the Pittsburgh Penguins on April 29.
Asked what he did over the summer for rehab, Avery, now a member of the Dallas Stars, quipped: "I spent three weeks on a beach in Mexico ............ http://www.torontosun.com/Sports/Hockey/2008/09/06/6678401-sun.html
Mike Boone,
I bought the Hockey News Yearbook today, the one that you posted a couple of days ago as a must read with Carey Price on the cover, there are no write-ups or critiques on the individual Habs, did I buy the wrong one?
One interesting fact in it is the number of cup wins per team. If you look at the big picture, the Maple Leafs are not losers. They haven't won since'67, but they do have 13. What surprised me was Chicago with their last win in 1961, total cups are 3. Boston still only has 5, last cup was in 1972. From the original six we are so off the chart it's not funny. Interesting that Detroit has a total of 11, which the last four has been in the past 11 years so we still totally dominated the original six until 1996. What really annoyed me is Colorado with 2 cups, which should have been ours. The Roy trade was a case of brinkmanship that nobody came out a winner.
Moey - As someone else just stated, you did purchase the wrong one. You're looking for Mckeen's Hockey Yearbook. I believe it's printed in Toronto but isn't available in all the major outlets - you'll have to hunt and/or google for it.
As for your Stanley Cup comments, I find it interesting that Detroit was able to turn the Sawchuk/Kelly/Abel/Howe/Linsday/Delvecchio dynasty into four Cup victories over a six year span. While Chicago was only able to win one Cup with Hall/Hull/Mikita/Pilote on their roster. Even Boston was only able to win two Cups and they had Orr and Esposito, as well as Cheevers, Hodge, and Bucyk. Opportunity lost by both teams in my eyes.
It will be interesting to see where Toronto and Detroit stand ten years from now in terms of who is second best in the overall Cup parade tally.
The Original 24 Cups
I was surprised by the stats too, especially the Black Hawks and Boston. I would have thought they had more cups. I really took the Habs for granted when I was younger. It really hit me yesterday just how much of a dynasty they are. And I love the fact that no team in my lifetime will catch up to their 24. (I hope)!!
Toronto's Cups were in two major bunches also ;Syl Apps Sr/Turk Broda years with 6 cups over 10 years 1942-51 and Keon/Mahovlich/Brewer/Horton years with 4 cups over 6 years 1962-67.
Moey ,any large magazine store should have. There are about 6 Year Books out right now.McKeens is into the player scouting thing and this magazine is popular with the Hockey Pool enthusiast,it is around $8 .
I personally rather pay to watch something that is watchable, (good quality) like http://www.hockeystreams.com and not have to deal with the stream looking like crap or chopping during an intense moment like SOPcast (hockeywebcasts) is.
Well we're not sure if we want to stream it in Sweden. Sweden is not sure if it wants anymore hockey. Its flattering that you want to stream itin sweden but we're not really sure we want hockey. We are going to think about it some more and maybe if we feel like it we will stream it in Sweden.

I think my position has changed a little in the last couple of weeks. I have move to the thinking that Bob has no reason at this point to sign anyone else. Guys like Lang or Kozlov would be a mistake. Our best bet is to wait till the around trade deadline, when which we will get more offers from agents willing to waive no trade clauses because of how awesome we are doing OR the Swedish Meatball can sign with us before that.
I think this would work better for us anyway. I truly believe that with two new additions to the team, we have to get our lines set up and figure out who is working out and who is not...then make additions.
The biggest mistake Bob made in recent years was trading Riberio for nothing, because he was not working with Samsonov. As it turns out it was Samsonove that didn't work with the team. We cant make this mistake again.

Vince - Is this something new that we deal with agents at the trade deadline ? If we stand pat and then make a trade we will probably ,90% sure , lose a decent asset from our core in the trade , so wouldn't it be logical to pick up a decent asset or two to soften the trade blow. The price at the trade deadline is heavy and right now the teams over or around the cap cannot be that demanding. Now if Mats decides to come our way during the season then we unload that asset or the equivalent. The more assets you have means your dealing from power and makes it much easier.

About I grew up in Park Extension, within walking distance of Dickie Moore's Dairy Queen on Jean Talon. Moore had a place on L'Acadie Blvd., and we used to see him driving around in his convertible with a Samoyed and a very dishy wife.
While "studying" at McGill University during the 1960s, I used to attend games at the old Montreal Forum. My fellow undergraduate reprobates and I would scramble up the stairs to get centre-ice spots in the top standing room section, where aged ushers didn't know or care what we were smoking.
I stood out in the cold for six hours to get tickets to the 1975 New Year's Eve game between the Canadiens and Central Red Army. With the exception of the birth of my daughter, the 3-3 tie was the greatest event I've ever seen in my life.
I've been a professional journalist since 1974, when I joined the Montreal Star sports department. I've covered the 1976 Olympic Games, the 1979 Expos, pop music and MSO tours of Europe and Asia (classical musicians are WAY more fun to drink with than athletes). I wrote a TV & Radio column for 20 years and, since 2000, have written a City column for The Gazette.
The best part of being a Habs Inside/Out contributor is attending games at the Bell Centre. I think it's a great building: noisy, raucous and packed to the rafters with Montrealers and visitors who live for hockey.
And I still get goosebumps every time Michel Lacroix booms out "Accueillons nos Canadiens ..."
Having seen the Boston Red Sox win two World Series, I suppose I can die happy ... but not before another Stanley Cup parade. And I'd really like my daughter to see a historic New Year's Eve game.
