I don't know about you guys, but I tend to enjoy getting my groin tweaked.
I usually happens on a two-on-one, or a three-on-two, but not the one you're hoping for my friend!
Dear Penthouse Forum,
I can't believe this happened to me....................
Watched the Sens against the Rags last night. The former fielded their A team sans Alfredsson and the best they could do was a 3-2 win? They better get that Gladiator dude ready to whoop up the crowd!
It's funny you say that, Brian, I too, watched part of the game last night and wondered when Melynk was going to bring the Greek Spartan guy out of retirement to rally the troops.
I was telling my sens fan buddy today that the sens will go nowhere this year. If you can shut down Spezza and Heatley, you can beat them. They have no back up, even if they put Alfreddson on the 2nd line, he can't do it all alone. They have slated Winchester, a rookie, to play with Spezza and Heatly, and today in the paper, they were saying that they want to move Folingo to center beside Vermette and Alfie for their second line. So, as far as I can tell, they are banking on two green horns to resurrect their offensive prowess.
This is not even mentioning their goalie issues and defensive woes.
I know I've said this before but I find the sens fans just as delusional as the leaf fans.
Delusion is a common retreat when the streets of reality have been so harsh to you.
hmmm ...especially in Ontario... I guess it reflects the grim prospects for joy outside of hockey in the centre of the 'O'niverse...;)
I don't know if you read this Eric, but Melnyk is talking about bringing a professional soccer team to Ottawa. No problems there, even with the fickle Ottawa fans, but the funniest part is, is that he plans to build a stadium right beside that $#it hole arena in the middle of no-where. Good Luck Eugene!
I'm even worried about NHL hockey in Ottawa, because once this team starts it's decline, which will happen in my estimation, the fans will desert this team like rats sinking a sinking ship. I've come to enjoy watching the Habs play here.
Yeah,
I can see Sens fans losing interest real quick if the team hits the skids big time. Look what happened to the Rough Riders. It really would be a shame to lose another place to see the Habs play.
Lets hope they can continue their 'tease and suck' act indefinitely. For that matter I wouldn't mind seeing that kind act more often...
The Sens pretty much iced their A team last night. I have no idea why unless they are desperate for any win they can get to boost ticket sales. The Gladiator dude can't be far behind, can he!
I feel bad for the kids who grew up thinking the 'battle of losetario' was the epitome of intense hockey rivalries.
I couldn't agree with you more, Eric. I use to go to all the leaf-sens games here, but believe it or not, I stopped going because I couldn't figure out which team I hated worse and this is coming from a guy who should be officially registered as president of the leaf hater fan club.
During darker days for our team('97-'98) I went to see a couple of games in the 'potty' on highway 115. I couldn't believe the lack of atmosphere. Tickets weren't a hassle though.
The Sens were always awful in my opinion, but the gladiator dude just took the whole thing to another level.
That had to be the funniest thing I've ever seen in professional sports. Boy, I got a lot of mileage out of that one. The actor was actually supposed to be a Spartan, who were more Grecian than Roman, which makes the whole silly image even funnier. My buddy was at that game and he told me that when the sens were called for a penalty, that moron would come on the big screen, yelling “DEFEND, DEFEND, DEFEND” while swinging a cardboard sword.
Priceless.
Wow...I'm actually sorry I didn't get to see that. A laugh a minute, those Sens.

Every time I have to deal with this franchise, I am always left flabbergasted. The boat / Bob Gainey insult, the forcing of customers to buy an equivalent amount of tickets to a lesser game on a week night when you bought tickets for Habs, Pens or leaf games, the rallying Spartan and their penchant for taking their fans for granted.
My buddy John was telling me that Melakar, their president, was pissed off that the league has changed it format and will let teams from the west and east play more. I don't know about you but I'm looking forward to seeing more teams. I won't get to see our Habs here four times this year, but I am looking forward to seeing more of the Ducks, the Sharks , Blackhawks, Red Wings, etc. To me, it just shows this teams lack of vision for the future and their disdain towards their fans. All they care about is selling out.
ROFLMAO!!!
How can a franchise ever hope to win if it shows that kind of judgment... I'm still freakin' laughing...
They all talk about Mats Sundin and have forgotten Dave Keon. The former won nothing. The latter won a few Cups and the Conn Smythe in '67. I didn't see him play in that series, but many who did said he was the only Leaf on the ice who could skate with Cournoyer. Now there was an opponent you could respect and admire. Have the leafs "honored" his number? Well, er no.
They have to retire Walt Poddubony's sweater first. Boy are you dumb.
WP was the man!!!
Dave, I have a feeling that it is going to be "back to the future" for us. The Bruins will be our stiffest competition in the East. And, that's a good thing in my opinion. Last year's series brought back a lot of memories. Yep, we beat them in seven, but by God they pushed us. Ryder wearing the black and gold will make it even more fun. You know I always liked him, so I hope for a bunch of "Guy Lafleur" evenings. Ryder pots two, is named "First Star" and the Habs win. It is all good!
I think a lot of the Bruins success will depend on whether Bergeron is able to play with an edge. Sometimes players who go through a long term injury like Bergerons, loose their will to take a hit for the team to make the play. With Bergeron, the Bruins have a great one, two punch, without him they are a lot like Ottawa.
I too, enjoyed watching Ryder, but I think his skating skills limited his worth to our style of play.
I tell you one thing, I'm looking forward to watching Big Georges land a couple of shots on that freak of nature Chara. It sure is going to be nice to see our guys being able to play their game without having to worry about cheap shots anymore.
Well, they leafs will not be a "worth foe." And, it doesn't look like the Sens have progressed. So, I welcome the Bruins stepping into the void!
We're closing The Stadium tonight. It's still the best place on the planet to see a baseball game!
Are you going Brian?
We all made our pilgrimage last week against the Rays. I'm watching from home. Getting sort of misty. The first game I ever went to there with my old man was Mickey Mantle Day. The Stadium is at 161st Street. My high school was at 164th. If you were at school for some reason on a spring night you could hear the crowd at All Hallows. The Brothers let us out early for the "Bucky Dent" game because they knew we were all going to cut class anyway.
Why am I not surprised?

Aren't groin injuries a sign of not being in shape and trying too hard to keep pace?
I've made a huge mistake...
Gob!
groin injuries can also happen by catching a rut in the ice, not stretching enough or just from incidental contact.
Georges I said don't break a finger in the 4th game!! That means don't get injured in preseason too!!!!
Laraque will make them Pay the Price!
