It's one game people. ONE GAME! I like Max Pac, but please, let the kid develop properly in Hamilton for a bit. This isn't Toronto where the entire team belongs in the AHL.Give him a ton of ice time in Hamilton, where he will develop as he should. He will get his shot, probably sometime this season, but there is no rush.
Anyone remember Greg Stewart's big game last year? Everyone had him stealing a job for sure this season based on that. He has looked very ordinary throughout the preseason though, and will certainly start in Hamilton.
There is no need to rush Max Pac. Take a deep breath, and trust the decision making of Bob & Co.

You're right, and Pacioretty will likely have a chance to shine in the AHL for 30 or 40 games this year. But Dandy and Kostopoulos are UFAs and may well be gone by the deadline (possibly along with UFA Lapierre), and Pacioretty will be part of the reason why.

Why do people think the world cares that the Laffs "made a run" at Bobby Ryan and Schnieder? Who give a f*#k?!?!?! I can understand mentioning it once but I saw it on tickers all day yesterday, TSN obviously all night and now even on HIO, ridiculous. Even if they would have gotten them what would have changed, NOTHING. Except for the fact that Schnieder's services would have been wasted for the season, well, I guess they kinda did anyway but that's besides the point. I thought maybe for once the media would branch out since there should be absolutely nothing to talk about in Loserville, but obviously I'm the dummy for thinking that.

Schneider being involved would basically make Bobby Ryan's value less because of Schneider's contract. The only way Anahiem would ever trade Ryan in a deal would have been if Scheinder's contract was included. The Leafs likely wanted Ryan, and would have taken on Scheinder's contract because of Ryan, not because they necessarily wanted Scheinder.

Perhaps because there isn't much else to talk about in Laffland, but I see your point. That "organization" has been heading for disaster since the days of Pat Quinn. You can't keep trading away draft picks and hope to be successful over the long haul. I told my buddy who's a die-hard Laffs fan that they'd be in trouble 3-4 years ago, but he scoffed. I'm having the last Laff now.

Has anyone else noticed how poorly Gagnon writes? To say nothing about the fact of how inaccurate he can be?
Didn't Detroit's Leino score on Price in the shootout? Gagnon claims that Price was perfect again in the shootout, for a second game in a row. Perhaps he didn't even watch the Detroit game or even read the reports from other more reliable sources.
"Après avoir concédé un petit but sur les 29 tirs des Wings, [[Carey Price a été parfait en tirs de barrage pour un deuxième match de suite]]. Comme il l’avait fait dimanche aux dépens des Panthers de la Floride, il n’a rien donné aux Wings."

Tom, let me say this: there is no journalist on the Canadiens beat – none – who is harder working than François Gagnon. The amount of material he produces for many media is incredible, and most of it under the crush of deadline pressure. None of us is perfect, believe me.
My night last night: arrive at the Bell Centre by 4:30 p.m., attend a 5:30 media opportunity with Alex Kovalev and Jean Béliveau, write and file a 900-word column by 7:30 p.m., upload audio of both men to this website, watch the game (which goes into overtime and a shootout), file the first 500-word story to my paper by 10:10 p.m., just about right on deadline, then down to the dressing room in a hurry, speak to Pacioretty and Lang, go back upstairs, listen in on Carbo's news conference, write the second 500-word story with quotes, file it by 11:30, then decide to rewrite a bit of it including news of Pacioretty's father driving in from Connecticut for the game. File that by 11:40 then pack up and head home.
That's not a night too unlike most.
François Gagnon was still on the press gallery writing when I left. If he had Price making three saves instead of two in the shootout, no big deal. (I had Price allowing one goal instead of two against the Wings in Detroit last week, but corrected it for the Sports Final edition of the paper.)

In all seriousness. I find it difficult to bang out a 300 word summary of my work- and I've worked for almost a decade in a pretty specific, narrow field. A 300 word abstract will take me the better part of a day to write and edit and prod into shape. I know students who will spend days of work on this one task.
So it goes without saying that I admire anyone who can produce 900 words in such a short amount of time- on a DIFFERENT TOPIC each time- to be read and heartily debated online and elsewhere. I appreciate the work you guys do- especially since I assume that HIO is something of a labour of love for you guys.

Well back again for another season, great game last night for a preseason game one of the better ones for sure. Fine performance for the kids in the lineup. Two players that stood out in my mine for their poor performances was Latendresse who appears to have skates weighing 10lbs each and Brisbois who was vintage Brisbois who turned over the puck on several occasions. Despite that the final roster should be interesting!
