Kind of off topic but.. when Mats dropped the puck the other night I had to take a double take. I was excited for a split second, as at first glance I thought it was Billy Corgan!
GO HABS!

If we see you at the summit, I'll have hubby give you some great photoshop tips (ask him about the Thighmaster 2000). BTW, I would have have edited out the tats: )

I feel almost embarassed to bring this up, but does anyone else feel Sundin's photoshopped image is a little harsh? We want a forum that encourages respectful discussion. I don't mind people having strong opinions, but I think gratuitous insults are another matter. I guess I feel that image is a bit over-the-top.
One man's joke is another's insult. I'm just representing the latter interpretation...

Submitted by habsfan reduxit on Fri, 10/10/2008 - 19:18.
... to offer this visually rude comment against M. Sundin, someone who has never disrespected thge Habs, is certainly below the high standard we have a right to expect from a blog dedicated to the Montreal Canadiens, the classiest team in pro sports.
Submitted by Remy92 on Fri, 10/10/2008 - 15:40.
Agreed.. It made me chuckle til I realized it's not only a poke at Sundin but at oversized people too... and no you shouldn't be embarrassed for thinking this way, that's ridiculous and anyone who says otherwise, simply put, is a fool. Some people take hockey waaaaaaay too seriously and coming from me that's really bad....
Submitted by Trakman on Fri, 10/10/2008 - 13:53.
you should be embarassed to bring this up. This is satire, satire for a guy who had (noticed HAD) many teams waiting for him to make up his mind...
Mats is a big boy - he can take... if not - get him some tissues...

Submitted by Bugs on Fri, 10/10/2008 - 13:43.
It's not a gratuitous insult, it's a joke, Andy. If his weight was a well known issue, it wouldn't be made fun of. Pretty sure Sundin would laugh this off more than say...dressing him up as Viking slave girl with blondie braids.
Think we'd get a reaction outta THAT more than this goofy photoshop, c'mon. It's like making fun of his non-existent limp or lisp.
Personally, I find the thing scary.
What if he comes back as goalie?
We're in Baaaarney.
Barney Ru'bble.
Trou'ble!
Peace Out.

Ok, so no one feels like I do. Sincerely, thanks for your feedback. Maybe I should have had de-caf this morning or something.
Bush, Palin, or Chretien jokes have always left me a bit cold. I'm just not into the pointing-and-laughing-at-victim thing.

Submitted by Harani on Fri, 10/10/2008 - 17:06.
I actually agree with you Andy! I mean where is all the respect going with sports...just because we are fans, we don't have to over do it. It's a a lame insult and also, logically...almost all the hockey player are big-made. (Did you see Laraque?) Lolzz...maybe not as huge but still...it is unnecessary!

I'm off to Buffalo in a few hours to see our boys take on the Sabres in their home opener. I'm so excited/nervous... I'm sure I'll bump into many Buffalonians that look like that photoshopped Mats.
A few summers ago I bumped into several of them at 6 flags Darien lake, no seriously I mean how can you not bump into them.
Go Habs Go
I'll post my up close observations of our boys performance much later tonight.

Submitted by Chuck on Fri, 10/10/2008 - 11:40.
I'll be there, too... wearing a red Lapointe #5. Say hi if you see me!

Junior A news---Just had a great talk with PK Suban at the rink this morning.
He is pretty excited to be a part of this great Canadiens organization.
He signed and gave me his stick for the Summit raffle and contribution to the Bob Gainey foundation.
He is going to check out this site and we might get a few words on here from him.
On other news, Shawn Mathias was sent down to the AHL Rochester affiliate of the Florida Panthers to-day.
Don't be shy PK, say a few words if you see this.

That's debatable. He idd fire the puck right at Scotty Nieds, after all. I'm just not convinced he's the nice guy everyone makes him out to be.

Submitted by Bugs on Fri, 10/10/2008 - 13:51.
Yeah?
Well, Alfie fired the puck at him because he KNEW that Niedermayer was gonna sit out half a season like a pansie. How's that? Alfie was INSULTED for the game. He could see the future.
Alfie, thank god, IS the Senators. Without Alfie, morale disappears.
It's GOOD to be happy that he's out for a bit.
Heatley and Spezza can't carry; how many times must we witness this?
Goody-goody for us, I say.
Alfie, get well...
That is all.
Peace Out.

After that Wing performance against the "laffables" last night it wouldn't surprise me. They looked less than impressive in their ceremonial debut...
