From Saturday's Montreal Gazette:

Look for Christopher Higgins to be back in the lineup tonight when the Canadiens host the Phoenix Coyotes, but he'll have to adjust to new playmates.

Higgins, who has been sidelined by a groin injury, is expected to receive medical clearance and he's pencilled in for a spot on the No. 3 line with Robert Lang and Sergei Kostitsyn.

Sorry, did we say the No. 3 line? Head coach Guy Carbonneau reminded the media yesterday that he doesn't assign numbers to his lines and there is some evidence that, with the return of Higgins, the Canadiens have three well-balanced lines.

Higgins usually plays with Saku Koivu, but Carbonneau elected to keep Guillaume Latendresse on a line with Koivu and Alex Tanguay. They have combined for 14 points this season, with Latendresse collecting a goal and four assists.

It's a vote of confidence for Latendresse, 21, and a feeling that Higgins will be a good fit with Lang and the younger Kostitsyn brother.

Carbonneau said Higgins is a go-to player, although his status for tonight's game and beyond depends on his health.

"If he's not healthy, he's not going to help the club," Carbonneau said. "He has to be 100 per cent and he has to feel it. The doctor can tell you he's okay, but if he's not ready, there's always doubt in his mind. It's a different game today. The pace is really fast and if you're not ready to follow it, you're not a help to your teammates.

"Chris had a good practice, but we'll have to see how he feels tomorrow. But if he's healthy, he'll definitely help his club." Higgins sent word that he didn't want to discuss his status until he was cleared by doctors, but his good friend, Mike Komisarek, said he was confident Higgins would be back tonight.

"He's chomping at the bit," Komisarek said.

As for Latendresse, Carbonneau said he wasn't surprised by the young man's fast start this season.

"What he did the last two years is pretty nice," said Carbonneau. "He has 32 goals at his age. he's only 21 years old and we tend to forget that. He's only averaged about eight minutes a game with very little power-play time. We know he has good hands and all he needed was a chance to play with better players. His chance is there and he's taking advantage of it."

There have been suggestions over the past two years that Latendresse would have benefited from some time in the American Hockey League, but he said that he had no doubts that he is an NHL player.

"I was just waiting for a chance like this," Latendresse said. "I got a break because Higgy got hurt, but I'm happy that I can show that I can bring something to the team. For sure, we're better with Higgy in the lineup, but I think we have three lines that score points."

While Higgins appears set for a start tonight, defenceman Francis Bouillon may have to wait.

While he is expected to receive medical clearance for an undisclosed leg injury, he and Mathieu Dandenault were the extra defence pair in practice yesterday. That would suggest neither will be in the lineup tonight and that Tom Kostopoulos, who has been playing with Lang, will join Maxim Lapierre and either Steve Bégin or Georges Laraque on the fourth line.

The Coyotes have some tough guys, but Laraque's services as an enforcer may not be needed tonight. Brian McGrattan has dressed for only one game for the Coyotes, while Daniel Carcillo was suspended for two games for coming off the bench Wednesday to fight Chicago's Ben Eager.

Summiteers : Just got off the phone with the Baton Rouge as i gave them the approximate head count for the pre game meal and the manager Michel Leclerc will be taking care of us that afternoon. Everything is taken care of at this end and enjoy and Bon Appetit. A little heads up, when you enter the Baton Rouge just mention the summit at the receptionist's desk and she will direct you downstairs to our special section in the back, there's also a bar downstairs. ps: a special note to Ian, the manager still has your thunder sticks they took off of you during the dinner last year and will gladly give them back to you when your leaving Saturday. .......................

We Thank TommyB for this review - The Sports Station (sports bar and grill across the street from Hotel Du Fort). From what I hear this is where you guys will meet after the game for drinks (is that correct?, or are you having dinner there as well?), anyway, I had the opportunity to have dinner there this past Friday night as I was in Montreal for the game vs. Phoenix and I stayed at the Hotel Du Fort. Great spot! Great atmosphere! Food is good, and reasonably priced. They carry the usual sports bar staples such as wings, pizza, and so on. The food was great and the beer was cold. A 60 oz. pitcher for $8.95 (or is that 8.95$ ?). They also have a 120 oz. pitcher. I didn't notice the price, but have to assume it is well-priced also...and it is one big mother of a pitcher. If you guys have reservations or whatever, you should be ok. Otherwise the place may fill up quickly I'm guessing. Here's a bonus...this sports bar is open for breakfast. The buffet at the Hotel Du Fort is $10.00/person. I had a king's breakfast for $5.95 at the Sports Station, and I did not walk away from the table hungry. Great breakfast for a great price. Grab yourself a copy of the Gazette and head across the street to the Sports Station for breakfast. Enjoy the Summit...wish I could attend again

A Special Thanks to Tommy B.for his Heads Up for the Summit - Oct-25 ..... SUMMIT ALERT : We Have the Section to the Left of the Bar in the back reserved for the Summit Group after the Game and the Manager's name is Sal and he's put a Special Table in that Section that Ian can dance on, safety first. If you get bored with the conversation there's over 20 screens with all kinds of sports action. If your a small group you can order your own keg which works out to 12 cents an oz. It should be a Hoot ..... A Summit Reminder : The pre game dinner on Oct-25 - 3:30pm will be at the Baton Rouge a football toss away from the Bell Center , 1050 rue de la Montagne ..... http://www.batonrougerestaurants.com/page.asp?intNodeID=31239 ........................... Check it out ..... http://www.batonrougerestaurants.com/page.asp?intNodeID=31213 ........... After the game will be held at The Sports Station - La Station des Sports - Resto Bar .. 2051 St. Catherine St. (corner Fort) and across the street from Hotel du Fort ..... http://www.yelp.ca/biz/la-station-des-sports-montreal .............. Special Thanks to Jim M for all his help, much appreciated.

Price was outstanding when he had to be. Laraque is a great edition. I loved the way that we didn't notice Lucic doing any running around at all the other night. As for the Desert Goons? The stick to Kovalev was an accident but four stripers missed it but did they miss the the hit on Andrei too or just not call it? Flagrant cheap shot! The league has got to do something about it. Problem being, they let Scott Stevens end Lindross's career with the same cheap shot (albiet, open ice). It's basically a fore-arm shiver to the chin and belongs in wrestling. Heck, you can't even hit a QB that way in a football game. BTW, Does Desert Goon coach, Tony Gretzky not now look like some kind of prepetually scowling Soprano character or someone like that? I dislike him more every time I see that nasty looking mug. Who would have guessed that Semenko-style hockey would be his forte?

Get well soon Andrei.

Dogs win tonight 6-3 D'Agostini gets 2 goals and an assist. Weber scores. Hamilton is 4 and 0 to start the season, best start in franchise history. Reassuring on a night when one of your big guns goes down. The shot to A.K. was definitely a head shot. I hope Carbo sends in the tape.

Overall effort was good although yet again 3rd period slowness and sloppiness but luckily Phoenix isn't Boston and at least the forwards are supporting the D. PP didn't look good, wonder what's wrong. Also wondering what's up with Plekanec, he's been very quiet although he put in a good effort against Boston. Kovy has been okay but the way he's plays sometimes, it's like he thinks he has no teammates. I do realize he gets double teamed a lot but that's where passing comes in handy. Who do you put with Pleks and Kovy? S. Kosts or Higgins? A. Kosts injury is obviously bad news but this could be an opportunity to get that line going because they just seemed to have been out of sync since the beginning of the season while the Koivu Tanguay Lats line without the benefit of pre-season practice are simply on fire.

I broke mine in July - Knee to the eye in a Rugby game. The Doc said it would be fine after 4 wks. I gave it 8 wks.

I loved it at the end when Georges and Price exchaned helmet and mask. That was way too funny, gave me a good laugh! Everyone that is a Habs fan has to love the fact that we have George Laraque! I certainly do!

-I hope A.Kost. is alright. It looked like he was concussed -we played very well with the lead. -Lats is a new man. Holy shomly! -Finally Koivu has line mates who are interested in playing like a trio. -Komisarek and Markov are a beautiful force. -The Priceberg is amazing. -Laraque lopoked a lot better tonight. Welcome George. -Benoit Brunet is the weakest part of the RDS crew. The guy with the hair, in between periods, is good. -My prediction.... Welcome to the National Hockey League Max Pacioretty.

twocents: I attended the game in Hamilton last night watching our beloved Dogs play the Tampa Bay Lightning farm team (Norfolk Admirals) and they're undefeated after 4 games in the early season winning 6-3, how sweet! Max is not ready to play yet in the big leagues, sorry to disappoint you and other Habs fans. He still has to fine tune his game if he wants to play in the elite level. We don't want to rush the guy do we? Gotta love Mike Glumac, Ben Maxwell, David Desharnais and Matt D'Agostini with their play so far along with Marc Denis in goal. Our baby Habs will be blooming and I would not be surprised if Bob Gainey pulls the trigger on a trade. Pretty sure there were a couple of "Men in Black" NHL scouts along the empty stands taking notes. Sorry to hear about Andre. He'll bounce back. Not the style of game I like in this new NHL where a goon tries to take the head off a skillfull up and coming player in Andre. Send the tape in Guy. Yeah you could see AK27 seeing what was coming and moving out of the way when AK46 got the hit. Good thing Lats is getting his mojo on..really wish he could connect with some passes though. Lets hope Akosts ain't out for a while

I thought SKost looked pretty good on Kovalev's line... made a couple of great set up plays. So if Higgins is coming back next game, I think Sergei would be a really good replacement for AK46 and Higgins can stick with Lang and Tom da Bomb on the third line.

That was one of the things I thought he was better at tonight. He tried way more passes than usual and completed a few.

#1 We all know Higgy is not playing. #2 Man this game has gotten nasty. #3 Andre K. gotta keep your head up bro, hope you're ok. I saw this coming. How many time do you see him trying to penetrate the offensive zone with a deek and his head down? This should awaken him to the reality of that style..
