Don't get too excited about getting Sundin. How many times did we hear Hossa is coming, Briere is coming......this just seems to be another one of those scenarios.
Sportsnet is also now reporting that the Rangers were granted negotiating rights even before the Habs....

Well, then Fletcher must be a great liar, cause on TSN he said we have "exclusive" rights.

Maybe the Rangers had it before and Sundin told them no flat out?
Sundin is supposedly looking to stay in canada, and in the eastern conference if he returns. He has business interests in canada and doesn't want to do the western conference schedule. That being said, it's possible he goes to detroit, but I doubt it. Seems the odds are us, ottawa, toronto. Considering toronto has given his rights away, I doubt they are in the running. Also, why would the leafs give him to us if they could send the rights to detroit if he's more likely to sign there? I know it's hard to believe, but I think it's montreal or retire. Leafs offered him a contract, he refused because it did not include a NTC, so they gave the opportunity to us. Unless he takes a paycut and accepts a deal without a NTC, he's not going to Toronto.
Leafs offered him a 1 year/7 million deal that included a NTC.

He'll probaby end up in Toronto or Detroit with his Swedish buddies Holmstromn and Zetterberg.

I can't help but agree that it would be SWEET to see Sundin in a Habs uniform... just to rub it in. But as a hockey decision, for me, not at the price he's gonna command.

Thanks for reminding us of the number one reason to sign Sundin... the ability to rub it in the face of anyone we know from Toronto.
Ugh, I don't think I can visit this website until we find out Sundin's decision. If it doesn't happen, I'll be broken for the rest of the summer.
