Since our last podcast, there has been no shortage of news surrounding the Canadiens. On top of their up and down play, the Canadiens told Georges Laraque to stay home, saw teammates get in each others faces at practice and lost their leading goal scorer when Michael Cammalleri went down with a knee injury last weekend. As we speak, the Canadiens sit seventh in the Eastern Conference, but their hold on a playoff spot is tenuous and the situation changes every single night.
Today, Pat Hickey, Mike Boone and Kevin Mio discuss the injury to Cammalleri, the goaltending situation and the team's inconsistent play of late, among other things.

Guys, thanks again for a GREAT podcast. They're a treat each month.
-- Thank You Saku.
...the funny thing about listening to these puckcasts is these professional media mavens (hacks ?) don't say ANYTHING very much different, or agree on anything much more than We unwashed ...amateurs
...I think a more insightful and entertaining Puckcast would be a Timo, 24 Cups, Ian Cobb and XtraHabsFan
...now THAT would be MORE informative ...and ENTERTAINING !
Habitant means PASSIONATE HOCKEY

Excellent puckcast once again.
Dead on about Halak and Price.

Perry Como singing about the Habs' chances of making the playoffs: "It's Impossible".
"Dissappointed in Gionta and Gomez.... I think (Martin) has realized Plekanec is the key."
EXACTLY.
O'Byrne is better than Komiserik.... takes more pressure off of Markov.
YES
Halak is Jacques Martin's guy... like last year when Halak got us into the playoffs. The team needs to win games... Halak stops the puck and he wins.
YES
Why the team plays better in front of Halak... he's going to stop everything... and if he lets in a goal, Halak is not going to let is phase him... and is not going to glare at his defensemen.
YES... and Carey needs to grow up.
They really boxed themselves in the corner with some of their contracts.
NO KIDDING.
--------------------------------------------------- Listen to the SmartDog. He knows his poop!
Scott Gomez is "adequate". LOLOLO Thanks Bob for paying 7.3 million/year for five years for an adequate player.
Please hand in your resignation. Your tenure has been LESS than adequate.
If only you could meet him face to face and tell him up close and personal what you have written here. To have someone so brave and insightful... willing to really tell it like it is would finally solve all the problems with the team.
I am picturing you doing this... your voice in this little squeek, soiling yourself just before he throws you through a wall. But of course it will never happen. Better to come here with your brave and insightful comments and speak to the wind.
You really have a problem. Going through life so dour and lacking in humor must be tough on your friends, that is if you have any.
ps I would return the favor and critique your comments, but quite frankly I don't know who the hell you are little man.
I see you can dish it out - actually you are good at dishing it out with people who will never read your comments - but you can't take it. No one will be surprised.
Who are you? It is obvious you are a fan of my comments and have read them all as well as the replies. I am truly honored.
Sorry to say I can't recall ANY of your brilliant postings. Please refresh my memory as I am sure each one was an individual jewel.
Now go get my double double and bran muffin.
I've got to go... back to my first and only point. This is a site for fans of the team. If you're going to call out the GM, just be prepared to be called out yourself. He's not here to stick up for himself - which is why you're so brave in the first place - so someone else might. That's all. I just get tired of all the negative bravado that would never get aired face to face. Feels gutless.
Gutless= Perfect term for 90% of people posting tough on online forums
Our 5-5 scoring so far isn't as bad as say 06-07. We weren't big on the top two lines back then but we were bigger than we are now. I don't think size is really the reason why our 5-5 scoring this season is poor.
As always, entertaining and enlightening. I could listen to Pat and Mike discuss hockey for hours on end.
Couple of salient points stood out: the Habs dismal record of late (well, for two decades now, really) of recognizing, drafting and developing young talent; the financial constraints they are now under due to cap limitations thanks to the bloated contracts secured last year (grrr, Gomez); and the inability of our small forwards to compete and win puck battles 5-on-5 (luv ya, Gionta, but size does matter sometimes).
All of these issues reflect badly upon our GM. I'm no champion of the "fire Bob Gainey" mob, but when you evaluate where we are, what are our problems, and what are our prospects for improvement, it doesn't say much for the job performance of old number 23. And when you factor in the fact that he was ready to trade Halak to Philly, a playoff spot rival, only a month and a half ago..., well, I'm getting ready to build myself a placard and join the mob.
Another good Puckcast. Thank you, gentlemen. Perry Como? LOL
I laughed and immediately remembered SCTV's hilarious Perry Como sketch: him singing while lying comatose on a couch.
That's what happens when Stubbs isn't part of the Puckcast; fewer Linkin Park references.

"That Sedin guy is awesome. This dude covers so much territory, it's like he's always in two places at once."
Yeah! It's almost like he has... an identical twin! :)

Moved post.
Thought this was game thread. My bad.
